I have been working at Red Lobster full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Free biscuits while on the clock, 50% off meals, free drinks while working, 25% off friends and family.

    Cons

Selfish servers, managing is poor, unorganized

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Your employees shouldn't be afraid to ask questions. Should be available more, don't hire just anybody because that's the type of service people receive... People don't tip poor service

I worked at Red Lobster part-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

There isn't much good to say about it. Some SOME servers are nice. Only make good money a few times out of the year.

    Cons

Management is disorganized, they have ego trips and change the rules to something every day. It's always a challenge to get someone to help you. I got fired for not telling my table about endless shrimp. When we aren't suppose to unless they ask or bring it up. They are a joke. You have endless shrimp to look forward to when everyone is over worked and under paid. The tips SUCK during endless shrimp, lots of ghetto people. The only time I made over or even near $200 in one shift was on Christmas eve.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Good luck. You'll need it.

I worked at Red Lobster full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

The best thing about working at RL was the people I had the pleasure working with. Food discounts!

    Cons

Moving up takes ages! Managers would change clock in our clock out times to avoid going over labor hours! If you have lazy co workers be prepared to pick up their slack! My manager was just a jerk. Getting a meal break was always a hassle and any time someone complained to corporate about him he would have the employee write a statement to take back the complaints. These people are schemers and liars! I wont even eat there!
    ps.Endless shrimp is a nightmare!!

I worked at Red Lobster part-time (less than an year)

    Pros

None. By far the worst place I have ever worked

    Cons

No challenges I can think of. Relatively easy job despite dealing with obnoxious and snobby managers. The GM is sarcastic and rude. Made
sexual remarks often. Made me feel extremely uncomfortable and unwelcome at work. An employee should not dread going to work because of awful employers.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The GM needs to watch what he says to employees and customers. Has an awful personality to be a General Manager of a company. The rest of the managers are just as rude and all treat employees with little to no respect what so ever.

I worked at Red Lobster part-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Met some great people and networked a lot. Darden also had some good benefits like weekly pay and discount Sprint cell service.

    Cons

No loyalty to good employees. When Darden wanted to change the game up from buss boys to service assistants many people were laid off and long time servers (including myself) were taken off the floor for three months to be an SA. My income was cut in half and I struggled to pay bills. I had been serving with them for over a year with little to no guest complaints.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Have a heart and remember real people work for the company. Every decision affects people's lives.
