Can take a little time for people to accept change but they do in the end if it is well reasoned

Current Employee – been working at Red Wing Shoe full-time for more than 3 years
Pros – Great pay, non gruelling retail hours, plenty to do, full on customer service mind set that insists on taking the utmost care of anyone that walks in the door. We want to gain a profit, but we what we value more is gaining customer's trust.
Cons – No cons, really, except that the amout of hours part time employees are allowed to work as a whole has decreased since I started with the company, and that the medical insurance offered through the company is not the best BUT it is so much better than an outside company I had for years
Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company

Current Employee – been working at Red Wing Shoe full-time for more than 3 years
Pros – Working for a company who still manufactures a majority of it's product in the USA, help people find what they need, decent pay, and you learn a lot about different work environments.
Cons – Not many opportunities to move up and further your career, not many raises, and don't have great incentive programs.
Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend

Current Employee – been working at Red Wing Shoe
Pros – Flexible Hours. Great Employee Discount that extends to family members. Most of the customers are laid back blue collar guys who are easy to get along with.
Cons – The amount of available work varies wildly from month to month in order to maintain the budget. Employees are frequently required to be entirely alone for most if not all of an entire shift. Company took away it's commission program despite it's apparent success.
Advice to Senior Management – Give the employees a percentage commission of all sales. It does not have to be a large percentage at all, even 1%. As it stands, the only individual who has any motivation to up-sell are managers. Associates, as of this writing, only see commission (and a small one at that) for selling multiple pairs to individual customers, a difficult task to say the least when average pair of shoes is over $200.00

Former Employee – worked at Red Wing Shoe
Pros – ability tomanage store and merchandise to local needs. contacts with future sales in retail. good working conditions and support from reps.
Cons – slow replies to questions on policy and feedback was mostly negative and very non supportive for staff and managers in red wing.
Advice to Senior Management – try to show intrest in others ideas and not to take personal feelings into work area and to at least give some credit to others .
