I worked at Reed Business Information US full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

Good work/life balance, you couldn't ask for nicer people to work with. Very open to new technologies and trying new things. I would go back there in a heartbeat.

    Cons

Middle management can be a bit of an annoyance, but far from the worst I've dealt with. The company can be a bit lacking in direction at times, but then what company doesn't feel that way?

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Poor management, metrics driven company that does not value sale/account managers at all.

    Pros

A place to work until you find a better place

    Cons

low salaries, no brand awareness, cheap and spend little to no money on anything except digital marketing, sees little value in a sales organization

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Talk to those who are trying to sell your product line, value what they are thinking, the rest of the company is relying on their successes and currently no one else can answer what customers/prospects are thinking. when you keep creating turnover you are not capturing any insight

    Pros

Some very bright US based people

    Cons

Upper management never asks for sales teams input
Makes rash decisions-changes comp and goals on a whim- changes job description w no warning or advance notice ultimately cuts employee income but saves company money
Does not understand US client base
UK has way better benefits US has very inexperienced new management to save money

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Talk to those who have had successes
Churn and burn employees is expensive especially on sales front

    Pros

The pay was great, the people were nice. Everyone worked well together. I enjoyed my time there until the last few years. At that point having people in roles the did not earn or have a background in hurt the company and the working environment.

    Cons

Company performing poorly. Managment is out of touch and inexperienced. They are more worried about continuing there situations that about the company. I worked in information technoly and had the misforture to have a manager that had no technical background and was out sick more than she came into work. The lack of experience did not help and being out sick too often added to the situation.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

None given, they won't listen anyway/
