Pros
Regal is good company to Improve your skill sets and Learn
Cons
Highly Matrixed, and very lean, so very less opportunities to advance your career.
Pros
The best reason for working at Regal Beloit is by far the medical and dental insurance. It can also be carried on family members.
Cons
The only con I have about Regal Beloit is that is a "pick and choose" type of workplace simply because its located in a small town; meaning it's based on how well and who you know tends to make an impact on advancements.
Advice to Senior Management
Treat everyone fairly.
Pros
Very clean plant. Shifts available to meet anyone's needs. Decent 401K plan. SOME opportunities to advance if you are a good employee. Plant manager works hard to keep the doors open and bring business to the plant.
Cons
RBC likes to crow about ethics but upper management does not walk the walk. Favoritism runs strong when it comes to advancement opportunities. Very poor rates of pay for the area but it is probably keeping the place open instead of being sent to Mexico. Leads are generally poor managers but this is a reflection on upper management and lack of training. Leads are attending leadership training but training in basic plant operations is non existent and this is a major factor. Training of new employees is very poor. Human Resource Dept. is laughable among almost all of the employees.
Advice to Senior Management
Clean up your acts as far as ethics go. Strike a balance between pay and keeping the place operational in Black River!
Pros
Good work environment. Veery conducive
Cons
The work week can sometimes consist of long hours
Advice to Senior Management
Treat employees equally
Pros
Some thing different, always busy, good hours and good pay
Cons
Some of the motor are a little tough to do but you'll always get threw them.
Advice to Senior Management
Keep doing a great job! :)
Pros
There is only one thing I can say that is good about working at Regal- Beloit, in the Lincoln Plant that is, thats the 401K Plan is about equal to the national average.
Cons
Promotions are given to people that get the most face time with plant manager. Job knowledge and performance are not a consideration. The last supervisor position was filled by someone that had 3 applicants that were more qualified passed over. That supervisor did such a poor job that they are no longer in that position. Over 22% profit margin, achieved consistently, but no raises given to employees. It's assumed that this done to fatten plant managers bonus package. Equipment is old( a lot of which is WW2 era), Equipment upgrades are non-exsistent. When machinery goes down, very seldom does it get repaired properly. Plant manager refuses to spend the money to correctly fix equipment. It becomes increasingly difficult to produce a quality product when your machinery doesn't work properly.
Advice to Senior Management
Treat production employees with a little more respect, they are the ones earning your money. Promotion practices in Lincoln need to be looked into. Equipment upgrades!!!! Pay your employees a decent wage!!!!!
Pros
Extremely lean and profitable. Decent healthcare, 401k. Good communication with top managment. Facilities are clean and show well to customers.
Cons
Poor R&D and advertising budgets, not spending much money to keep up with technology, virtually no promotion from within, and pay is below average.
Advice to Senior Management
All corporate decisions seem to have in mind the immediate best interest of only the shareholder. There is very little long term investment. Products lines become stagnant and only grow through acquisition. Respectable profits are being sucked from the value of the divisions which will eventually have no value and operations will be outsourced overseas. Micromanaging, lack of R&D, lack of advertising, lack of continuous improvement will ride each division into the ground. These issues must be fixed in order to grow long term.
Pros
Organized and Financially Stable Company that won't be going out of business soon.
Cons
Very frugal and attention to their own pocketbook negatively affects the salaries of their employees. As an outside sales rep, RBC had gobbled up multiple companies, fired the reps in the area and gave those new product lines to one rep (without a pay raise)....this is smart business in order to cut cost but even a modest pay increase would have been fair since several hundred thousand dollars were saved when consolidating (eliminating reps)
Advice to Senior Management
unfair treatment to employees and unfair business practices will continue to tarnish this companies reputation...
Pros
lots of room for advancement if you work hard
Cons
stressfull environment with lots of tension
Advice to Senior Management
focus more on your employees
Pros
Facilities are mainly in small towns - good places to raise kids low cost of living. decent benefits - can earn up to 5 weeks of vacation if you hang around for a long time.
Cons
they think a good cost savings is to limit raises and compensation of non managerial employees. Very high turn over. constant outsourcing of jobs to off shore aquisitions. hourly employees can be below poverty line wages after 5 years
Advice to Senior Management
hire some people. stop sending jobs overseas that can be done better in the US. Hire some people and pay them more than poverty wages to stop the turnover that is killing our business
