Long Late hours on weekends are where you will get your hours, tedious boring work, if not busy will be sent home within 15 minutes of arrival. but mostly just a boring job.

Encourage your employees more, let them know they are doing something worth while, also, also try to interact with the employees and try not to go hiding when its busy.

its a nice environment in which your co-workers quickly become your friends. The managers are great and understanding. The atmosphere is easy going.
Cons
Your constantly standing and the prices are always rising. This increasing prices cause customers to get tense and frustrated. Sometimes its hard to keep your composure.

Make the prices more suitable.

You're doing great. Just try better scheduling and pay. I enjoyed working for this company and would suggest it for anyone who loves to be social.
Pros
Regal is very flexible when you need time off if you give them a very open availability. It is a fun atmosphere to work in. You are surrounded by people of all age groups and levels of professionalism. There is something for everyone there, as long as pay doesn't matter. You can easily work at any location, so if you are not getting hours at your usual location, you can normally call another theater to see if they need help. It is a decent college job because the shifts can work around your schedule, and they prefer weekend availability.
Cons
Favoritism runs rampant, but it's not hard to become a favorite. It is easy to get fired, because they view everyone as replaceable. The hours are bad, and they require you to work most weekends, so it is hard to have a lively social life with professionals who work M-F 8-5. You will never get paid well until you are far up the ladder. You have to work at bigger theaters under the right management to advance quickly.
Advice to Senior Management
Even though it is an every changing environment, when something works, keep it. Stand up a little bit to absurd requests of payroll cuts from corporate. It hurts the quality of business that use to hold Regal above the others. Minimum staffing at the smaller locations on their busiest days makes the morale in the place horrible, which trickles down to the happiness of the customers.
Pros
Regal is a fun and exciting place to work. It is a fast paced job (most of the time). You get free movies!
Cons
In my experience, some of the higher up managers don't have any concern for the floor staff. I never spoke a single word to my district manager, though he visited almost weekly. Even the general manager stayed in his office most of the time, except on weekends or to come down to get himself a drink. Also, doesn't pay above minimum wage mostly, and even though I was there more than a year, I never had an evaluation or raise even though I was one of the top performing employees.
Advice to Senior Management
Upper management should get to know the employees as well as the assistants do. The assistants are so down to earth, and there is this gap in attitude between them and the upper management.

-High turnover rate breeds pessimism among workers
-Open 365 days a year, so you end up working most holidays
-Minimum wage, not much change in pay, even when promoted
Advice to Senior Management
The worst thing about working at an REG theater is that there is constant fear of making a single mistake and getting fired. This breeds pessimism and gallows humor. I'd advise that management take steps to reduce this kind of atmosphere.
Pros
The staff and management, well at my location they are great people. They do a fantastic job untill you go above GM where the fat corrupt people sit with all the power.
Cons
No hope for advancement. Dont even bother.
Cheap company, too payroll focused.
"Cast member" is another word for tool.
Theatre never closes. We were open during a hurricane once and state of emergency.
Regal is doing alot of demotions to managers who have worked with them for years. Greedy much?
Advice to Senior Management
Management, be more empathetic with your staff. Reward the few quality castmembers you have left. Morale is in the crappy for everyone. The people bellow you probably feel worse.
Pros
There are some great people who work at the theaters. They all usually have some sort of passion for film so it is a nice place if only for that reason. The Cast Members are very supportive of one another and a bond really does develop.
Cons
They frequently cut people early due to corporate demanding that management cuts hours. Management is mostly incompetent and plays games with the employees. General Managers sometimes lie right to Cast Members. Work isn't the greatest, but isn't that bad. The Corporate level management has no idea what they are doing and it shows in every theater.
Advice to Senior Management
Hire managers who actually want to work instead of just sit around and get prissy with Cast Members. Also, you need to try to offer more incentives for Cast Members to be knowledgeable about films that are out in theaters.
