Great Public Relations Experience!

Public Relations Intern (Former Employee)
Boston, MA

I worked at Regan Communications Group as an intern for less than a year

ProsWith this internship I got wonderful experience working in all aspects of PR, from behind the scenes, to events, and client relations. The office environment is very friendly with many great people to work with and learn from. I truly enjoyed my time at Regan and feel very prepared for a career in PR.

ConsThe internship is unpaid, but the experience and chance to learn about PR balances this

Wouldn't go back even if I was offered six figures

Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)
Boston, MA

I worked at Regan Communications Group full-time for more than a year

ProsEvery now and then a client has a good event or some sort of small perk that will get you out of that office and away from your coworkers.

ConsManagement is a joke, the employment hierarchy is mysterious and ridiculous. Nobody works because they enjoy it, it's just a resume builder. Many, many PR/marketing firms in and around Boston, look there first.

Advice to Senior ManagementShip has sunk, get out before you drown.

PR Intern

Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)
Boston, MA

I worked at Regan Communications Group as an intern for less than a year

Pros-Great clients to put on your resume
-Basic experience if you haven't had a PR internship before

ConsYou can tell almost every employee is unhappy there, which is unfortunate since they are very talented people. If you have any experience in PR or communications, I would keep away from this company--THEY DO NOT HIRE RECENT GRADS!!

Advice to Senior ManagementTake the time to talk to you employees and actually treat them with respect.

Public Relations Internship

Public Relations Intern (Former Employee)
Boston, MA

I worked at Regan Communications Group as an intern for less than a year

ProsI was fortunate enough to be placed with a supportive supervisor who allowed me to get hands-on experience with drafting releases, pitching article ideas, and planning events.

ConsI was told that Regan does not hire interns (at least right away... maybe a few years down the line). They expect interns to work 3 full days a week, unpaid, and don't consider hiring them.

Only if you're desperate

Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)
Boston, MA

I worked at Regan Communications Group

ProsScheduling flexibility was helpful, some people who work there are competent and honest, clients are good (for now), can make some good connections

ConsA total disconnect between people who do the work and people who tell you to do the work, no recognition for good work, only when you fail, no feeling of support from co-workers, no structure to basically anything, no privacy when it comes to work life.

Advice to Senior ManagementOh boy...I'd say to give up your position and let someone else give it a shot. You clearly do not know how to manage work or employees, and you are not as good as you think you are.
