I have been working at Regency Beauty Institute full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Monday through Friday daytime schedule. Innovative curriculum. When you have students that are committed to learning, you can really make a difference.

    Cons

Corporate mentality. No upward mobility unless you want to work 60+ hours per week. Some teachers do not pull their weight and get away with it.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Make all your teachers accountable for enforcing the rules.

Great products, attractive locations, benefits, growth possibilities maybe.

    Cons

micro management big time, always under a microscope, no appreciation or recognition. Integrity is foreign.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I have been working at Regency Beauty Institute

    Pros

    I can't think of anything.

    Cons

This is a horrible organization to work for. Never have I seen such a horrendous culture. Negative, controlling, sad. Walking into the offices is depressing.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

CEO doesn't allow other leaders to manage their own areas. Culture of fear and control will continue to make this an unhappy place to be. Change it.

I worked at Regency Beauty Institute full-time for more than a year

    Pros

The students...watching them grow and be successful, balance in work and personal life.

    Cons

The management is not concerned about the students or their employees. They are too busy playing games and trying to better themselves. No issues are ever addressed, just swept under the rug to create conflict amoung the campus. If you are not a favorite or play the games do not even try for advancement. Curriculum needs to be updated. Managemnt does not appreciate staff or the experience they bring to the students.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

You're students should come first, and treat your staff with respect. End the corporate games and corruption!!!

I have been working at Regency Beauty Institute full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Seeing the students succeed. Sharing your passion.

    Cons

You cannot move up in the corporation. Upper management will take advantage of your hard work and dedication. Pay is lower than the industry standard. Pay is also not based on experience and is not equal among employees. You are expected to perform duties outside of your job description for no addition compensation. High turnover rate of everyone on the campus level. No consistency between upper management and campuses.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Appreciate your educators. They are the ones educating your students. Don't take advantage of someone's good nature. Pay your employees equally.

I worked at Regency Beauty Institute as a contractor for less than a year

    Pros

    * Challenging, engaging job.
    * Lots of independence and freedom in planning your day.
    * Multiple different tasks keep tasks from feeling repetitive.
    * The pay was good, higher than most temporary jobs.
    * There were nice people.

    Cons

    * The managers micromanaged a bit, no one was allowed to use IM or do anything but sit there during slower periods.
    * Not always the most sensitive when students experienced trouble.
    * Chose not to hire me permanently because there was a fee involved.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be more sensitive/less victim-blaming when students report harassment and/or bullying, be a bit more laid-back about down time, perhaps be more flexible with scheduling.

I have been working at Regency Beauty Institute full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Enriching and changing lives of the students who come to enroll and start school. Working with industry leaders and receiving training. Very structured and well planned/executed. Listens to feedback and constantly runs "pilots" to test changes before they are implemented.

    Cons

Not having full autonomy when it comes to coaching/discipline/termination of students or staff.

I have been working at Regency Beauty Institute part-time

    Pros

They really do care about results for students.

    Cons

The way they deliver results for students. How they manage people. Crushing micro-management. People get discouraged and either leave or get swept out in the next re-org. (Or they get swept out in the re-org for no godo reason and the position gets re-filled a few months later.) Management never asks itself why it can't help people be successful. Everyone is just a bit part in their latest plan, and everything is directed from the top down. There's a culture of waiting for people to fail so they can be held accountable, which management thinks is its #1 job. If you're considering working here, look carefully at the turnover in similar positions.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Hold yourself accountable - are you delivering a strategy or are you just supervisors? Stop telling people how to do their jobs and start focusing on what you need from them and help them produce it.
