It was a good job with a comfortable work environment.

Head Teller (Former Employee)
Jackson, MS

I worked at Regions Financial full-time for more than 3 years

ProsThis is a growing bank with good visions. There is a lot of room move around with career pathing and a lot of good people to help you along the way.

ConsThere is a fine line between a growing bank (one trying to increase its footprint) and a retail bank (one trying to sell you any and every product they can throw at you) and this bank is a growing bank right now but has a very good possibility of becoming a retail bank. I hope that does not happen.

Advice to Senior ManagementPlease make sure that this company stays a home town bank.

Wouldn't recommend working for Regions.

Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

I worked at Regions Financial

ProsMet some nice people there.

ConsRegions operates with a lean staff (when fully staffed), and in my opinion and experience, they have significant teller turnover. Unfortunately, every time a teller quits, it takes a minimum of 2-3 months before you have a new teller, hired, trained and placed in your branch. This is a constant, continual problem, which leaves the rest of the branch employees understaffed, overworked and not very happy. You can't get coverage from other branches in your area because they are short-staffed as well.

Advice to Senior ManagementI believe it will fall on deaf ears, so, I won't waste my time.

Very Sales focused company, and if you are not comfortable selling products it is not the job for you.

Branch Service Leader (Former Employee)
Indianapolis, IN

I worked at Regions Financial full-time for more than 5 years

ProsGreat PTO benefit, 96 hours a year! Great vacation 2 weeks a year, and after 5 years 3 weeks.

ConsI never liked the sales pushing the company was so focused on. They were so focused on pushing products and customer attention that it came across as fake.

Advice to Senior ManagementQuit focusing so much on pushing products and offer products that people will come in for on their own, every bank offers about the same thing, so think outside of the box on what products people need instead of pushing bad ones on them.

Its ok... Decent place to start for banking

Teller (Current Employee)
Knoxville, TN

I have been working at Regions Financial full-time for more than a year

ProsMeet some good people. Good benefits, 2 weeks vacation, closed all federal holidays for the branches, 12 sick days a year too. On the good side of technology. Easy system, very user friendly... Decent training program. Decent place to start your banking career.

ConsHigh pressure sales. Getting rid of teller position and making everyone a sales person. On the low end of the pay average, especially for the size of bank. Non competitive products you are made to sell... Lots of fees on customers, deal with some angry folks.

Advice to Senior ManagementTellers are the face of your business. Dont turn them into cheesy used car type salesman. Not everyone wants or needs a credit card or a mortgage refinance.
