I have been working at Register Tapes Unlimited full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

I started selling tape as a 1099 in 2004. My first 8 months I averaged 58,000 in sales per month. I was promoted to a Regional Sales Manager then to a National Trainer. I now recruit. So I have been around a long time and you can take this to the bank...... YOU GET OUT EVERYTHING YOU PUT IN. I worked my butt off and it paid me handsomely. The problem with most salespeople is that they are lazy and they have to blame their non success to anything or anyone other than themselves. Bottom line is this: If you learn the product 100%, practice getting better every day, leave the excuses at the door and just go flippen work, you will do very well with RTUI. If you don't work hard you will die out there and come to boards like this and complain. Are we perfect? Hell No. Who is? Can we do better in some areas? Yes! But overall, you cant get a better 1099 gig than this

    Cons

As earned commission takes awhile to ramp up. You cant be broke to get started. Some managers need to make a bigger commitment to their new hires while training

    Advice to Management

let RSMs and sales people have a little more flexibility on pricing and incentives to customers. Other than that, I cant tell them anything they have not heard before.

    Pros

If you are willing to focus on success, listen and apply what is taught, you will earn a great living and enjoy yourself. A very supportive company with supportive Leaders. If you want to look and find flaws, you can and will in every company. Positive professionals win in this organization.

    Cons

If you are negative, lazy and not focused.... RTUI is not for you. If you are positive, focused and enjoy working with a team spirit, Join RTUI

    Pros

Top company in their industry. Great website and sales materials.

    Cons

Overpriced and inflexible. You're selling to small, usually underfunded, mom & pops who don't have the kind of money this company charges for their ads. Management is told this this daily, but don't seem to care.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your field sales people...they're the ones out there being told every day that your pricing is too high, and your company is difficult to deal with.

I worked at Register Tapes Unlimited (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Able to work from home.

    Cons

Lack of good communication from Sales Reps. Only communication rec'd from Mgmt. was when forms were not completed to his liking. A true case of the "left hand not knowing what the right hand is doing.

    Advice to Management

Better training. Better communication w/employee. An employee is only as good as the training and communication allows.

I have been working at Register Tapes Unlimited full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

My 28 years in this industry have been an incredible journey . 7 years with RTUI. Undoubtedly a company that is run in the most effective way possible. If you have closing skills the income potential is far and above what anyone would ever think. Growth opportunities abound. Something has to be right for us to have grown 700+ % in the 7 years I have been with them. UP FRONT COMMISSIONS. NO CREDIT REJECTS

    Cons

If you can't close you can't earn. It's not easy to go out everyday and take the rejection. Hardest part is teaching yourself how to put in a full day EVERYDAY.

    Pros

Supportive management, training provided, run your own business, flexible, unlimited earning potential, help small businesses grow, good customer renewal rate, bonuses

    Cons

No base salary (commission only), no benefits, a lot of wasted paper (a bummer for we environmentally conscious), and any missed payments by customers are deducted from next commission

    Advice to Management

Any base salary or benefits would be fantastic, and would likely reduce rep turnover, thus increasing client satisfaction and overall positive perception of the company. Keep up the positive attitudes and rep support!

    Pros

Competitive benefits package and commission structure, elevated training wage, expression of individuality, lack of micro-managing, beautiful facility, ample parking

    Cons

Favoritism exists, total lack of organization, incidents of sexual harassment in the workplace- one of which I was eyewitness to, workplace bullying is overlooked even when reported,

    Advice to Management

Investigate the facts. I wouldn't advise basing big decisions off false allegations, and/or the opinions of your "favorites"
