I worked at Relativity Media full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Allowed you to work independently, never breathing down you neck.

    Cons

Company not focused on core competencies. Always looking for another project without first mastering task at hand. Hire the wrong people for key jobs. Don't provide direction for future growth.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stay focus, hire the right people for long-term projects, and provide clear direction.

Former Contractor - Producer in Los Angeles, CA

I worked at Relativity Media as a contractor (more than a year)

    Pros

Your colleagues will be amazing, good hearted people. Typically, they are understanding about taking time off for health emergencies, important family/friend commitments, or if you have had something planned well in advance with much advanced notice.

    Cons

The higher ups are rarely in the office and hard to get ahold of regarding important issues that need to be resolved in a timely matter. Poltics in the office (blurred lines between being friends with your bosses).

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be more responsive to all of your employees and take the time to get to know at least one thing about them, beyond their names.

I worked at Relativity Media full-time

    Pros

Company is flexible enough to allow for growth opportunities.

    Cons

The company is incredibly mismanaged with negligent hiring practices. The company does not recognize it's employees as valuable, instead everyone from senior to junior level are incredibly dispensable. This approach trickles down from the top levels of management. The poor quality of films and their lack of financial success also creates a highly hostile and toxic environment.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Consider implementing more training opportunities for new employees to minimized the high turn-over rate.
