    Pros

Great team environment where skills are developped by the entire company. The entire roster is talented and driven to win. As a whole, if you have the drive you will grow with the company.

    Cons

The coffee is sometimes too hot. With a company like Reliance there are next to no cons to be seen.

    Pros

    - Historically very stable company; no sweeping org changes, bonuses consistently paid out - Balanced hiring practices, promoting from within vs. external hiring. - New CEO is creating urgency and trying to shake up a conservative, methodical culture. It's mostly cheerleading, but a start.

    Cons

    - Executive management, with a few exceptions, are not particularly inspiring leaders. - Technology and systems get in the way of doing a good job, despite attempted investment. Doesn't seem like any real strategy or leadership. - Is there a real future for their business model? There's no economic reason to rent a water heater, but that's the bulk of profit. There's no reason to rent a furnace, but that's the hard sell. Most of the business was created when utilities used a below cost water heater rental to drive consumption of gas. Ownership and covering repairs out of pocket pays off within a few years, rental is paid forever! - Check Canadian competition bureau actions and settlement against Reliance, it spells out some unsavoury practices and fines that could limit the company's future. - Not a lot of diversity at senior levels. Could be attributed to the company roots in non-GTA Ontario.

    Pros

You can control your starting and ending working time, and also decide how many hours you want to work in a specific day. If you are lucky, you will see very nice work mates. Certainly some of them are really difficult to work with. Try avoiding a order processing lady in Cambridge office.

    Cons

It is a no future business and most of employees are from Union Gas. They have no motivation and work on hirarchy.

    Advice to Management

Fire all the previous Union Gas employees

    Pros

Reliance has a great culture where it is a small company feel with large company benefits. The pay is very competitive, the benefits are fabulous and there are lots of opportunities for advancement as the company continues to grow at an aggressive rate. The culture is great within the company - with a lot of community involvement such as United Way, Toy Drives, Food Bank, etc as well as opportunities to interact socially with your team members through bbqs, pot lucks, outings, etc.

    Cons

You need to be able to multi task and handle deadlines and pressue as Reliance is growing quickly and it is a very fast paced, ever changing environment. If you do not like change, this is not the place for you! Change on the other hand means growth - so this is a positive as far as I am concerned!

    Pros

Wonderful team environment with lots of opportunities for growth and career development. Reliance is growing fast so always lots of interesting things happening that provide for learning and fun!! The team members are all terrific and there is super collaboration. The Executive is friendly and accessible and eager to help out where needed.

    Cons

I like everything but if you don't like a fast-paced work environment then Reliance isn't the place for you.

    Pros

There is something to be said about being a part of a company that is expanding and growing at the rate that Reliance Home Comfort is. If you work hard and smart the opportunities for advancement within Reliance will present themselves. Overall a very good company to work for with team members that truly make customer satisfaction a #1 priority.

    Cons

The hours can be long at times when we are in a busy period. To provide timely customer service it does require you to be available at a time that is convenient for our customers. Being aware of this upfront makes it less of a con.
