One of the worst companies to work for, in India

    Vice President (Former Employee)
    Mumbai (India)

ProsGood starting salary and good working environment such as clean modern office with hardware and software to match, good canteen etc, good increments, too

ConsI was selected on the basis of an interview after I was contacted on phone by the HR from a remote location just on the basis of my c.v.. I was thrilled in the beginning that I will have the chance to rise here to a very senior position. I was appointed as a vice president on a very big infrastructure project in which one of the subsidiaries was interested in. I was working in the subsidiary. But soon enough I found out that technical merit was of no account here. You were expected to bootlick your boss. The technical head himself was a big bootlicker and was under the thumbs of a very junior accounts man, who was a spy for the big boss. Naturally this rat who was envious of knowledgeable people like me was pouring poison into the ears of the big boss. So, I was not given even a notice of one month at the end of my one year contract but was informed that myservices wre no longer required two days before the expiry of the contract.

Advice to Senior ManagementStop the practice of having junior accountants working as spies and rats. And forget bidding for mega technical jobs. They are beyond your managerial capabilities.
