I worked at Remke Markets part-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Flexible hours, some of the staff are very friendly and supportive, decent pay for a grocery store, you get paid weekly, and it's a good starting point to figure out if you can hack it in retail or not.

    Cons

The raises are very low, the managers are not very professional and judge employees on a first glance opinion of their personalities as opposed to their actual job performance, if you're part-time your hours will yo-yo from 25+ one week to less than 10 the next.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Take more time to consider who you promote to management positions and make sure they're a good fit.

I worked at Remke Markets full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Lots of departments, so plenty of things to learn. Focus is on customer service, so if you are good with the general public you will be fine. Lots of friendly employees.

    Cons

Low pay and getting lower. Had a 60% full time to 40% part time ratio, and they have reversed that. They want part time help and high turnover. Benefits are horrible and very expensive. No personal days or paid holidays. Very dishonest upper management and corporate personnel.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Might as well close up shop.
