    Pros

Dedicated and capable employees at all levels. That along with strong IP portfolio/value should provide the base to maintain/build MCU and SOC businesses.

    Cons

Company is having difficultly overcoming business challenges especially after the Renesas-NEC merger and also recovering from the earthquake and impact it had on the customer base.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get out and talk to employees at all levels to get a better understanding how to best optimize the organization.

    Pros

Great technology in focus products. Top market share in focus products. Low power technology, flash memory, CPU cores and bus architecture expertise. Core business in Japan is very strong and will help outlast downturns in global economy. Excellent responsiveness to disastrous earthquake that shut down fabs and supply chain.

    Cons

Poor business sense in some cases. Continuous in-fighting due to previous mergers of Mitsubishi, Hitachi, NEC. Lack of balance in decision making among senior management. Lack of technical infrastructure that supports customers broadly. Continuous change of management style including strange edicts that seem authoritarian.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Change course. The water cooler talk doesn't seem to line up with the news headlines.
    Focus on revenue generating customers.

    Pros

The pay was above average, though I think that had a lot to do with the cons.

    Cons

Senior management places no value on being pleasant, kind, helpful, or most other positive virtues as long as numbers are met. Consequently sociopaths congregate here since they won't get in trouble.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Retention problems suggest poor managers. This company doesn't have warning signs, it has flares and fireworks.
