I worked at RenewData (Less than a year)

    Pros

Small enough to operate as a startup company.

    Cons

Too old to not get its acts together. Management was all over the place in terms of vision creation and industry leadership.

    Pros

There really is nothing much to say here. The employees are a talented group but that talent is wasted due to lack of support or genuine concern from executive level.

    Cons

Every issue requirements customization. Very little in the way of standardization and documented workflow. They talk best practices but do not follow them in most cases. Employees constantly argue over the best way to handle different situations, many were unmanageable and had a very high sense of entitlement. Employee behavior is mostly due to lack of support and care from executive level.

    Advice to Management

Not enough space to adequately address all of the issues here. In a nutshell, if you are brought in with the task of improving employee performance, workflow efficiency or process improvement, do not expect to achieve much. Your hands will be tied by the executives at this company every step of the way. They talk a good game but fail to provide the support needed as they do not (and will not) ever change their ways. This is sad because the company is actually filled with talented individuals who have lots of good ideas.

    Pros

Talented and motivated team, small company vibe makes it easy to get things done.

    Cons

Pay is quite low for the area, timelines can be quite aggressive and there is always a high pressure project in flight. Significant churn and turnover in management positions.

    Advice to Management

Try to find a way to pay employees more in line with the market. Fine a way to stabilize the leadership roles in the company.

    Pros

Depending on who you report to, you could be a major part of process improvement and driving change. There is never a lack of challenge and improvements needed.

    Cons

eDiscovery is often managed more by the customer than your leadership team. Be ready to be forced into ridiculous processes that are only implemented to address one off situations and never address root causes of problems. Leadership is not on the same page and with the recent acquisition by LDiscovery, the operation is very "Fly by the seat of your pants". Don't expect the company to be loyal to you. They are only focused on driving revenue and will cut you loose regardless of your contribution. Also expect 60-70 hour work weeks a majority of the time and checking your work email every 15 minutes even when not at work.

    Advice to Management

Not enough words allowed to fill this out. Leadership is the major weakness of this company.

    Pros

Tenured and professional co-workers. Enjoy working with a majority of my coworkers.

    Cons

Too process oriented, almost to a fault. The steps can slow down the response to a clients need.

  8. Good company, great people, competitive pay, too profit driven and low job security.

    Pros

The people that work there are great. There are many opportunities for advancing your career, taking on new challenges, and expanding your knowledge and skills.

    Cons

The main problem with company is that it is very profit driven. Each quarter has a major review of the financial position of the company and short term goals can often overshadow long term growth. Job security is a concern here.

    Advice to Management

Consider a more long term approach to the employee base and work structure if you plan on continuing to grow and have exceptional and technically superb staff.

    Pros

very relaxed work culture and no pressure to get the things done.

    Cons

Things are not going good for the company for sometime now. Company lost many talented resources in last couple of years. Company has a history of bad investments and most likely history is going to repeat because of inexperienced and incapable management. Execs and board are totally misguided by inexperienced leaders.

    Advice to Management

Its about time upper management realizes how screwed up things have been in technology for more than a year and get a better understanding of the reality rather than believing in some false statements from lower leadership.

    Pros

Perfect place if you need a semi-retirement lifestyle. Relaxed life and can come and go anytime. You dont have to do whole lot in your job because there is not much happening in company for few yrs now.

    Cons

Company with no direction and strategy and everyone in management have their own view on what company should be doing and nothing really gets done.

    Advice to Management

Dont think management is in a position to take any advice. That hurts their ego.
