I have been working at Rent-A-Center

    Pros

Pays weekly if management doesn't mess with your time to stay in their quota

    Cons

    Racist, thieves, liars
This company hides blatent racism and the robbing of customers. The management at this store has openly called customers the N word it has been reported but swept under the rug by upper management saying "I'll cover for you". Racism here also exists from upper management talking about white people. All they do is deny it ever happened and continue on. If you're found out to have reported wrong doing in the store management dies their best to make your life miserable and fire you. When customers can't pay their bill they are allowed an extension but the management makes them pay anyway and pockets the money. Again reported but nothing happens. Scheduled are changed on a daily basis there is no work life balance. You are forced to call and harass customers everyday until 9pm. You're threatened to be fired on a weekly basis even if you are doing a good job. The list goes on. So don't ever rent anything from Detroit MI. if you do God help you and confirm every transaction with the corporate office....that's my advice. If you're not a store manager or district manager your voice will never be heard. Good luck!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop looking the other way!! CEO should fire a lot of DM's and store managers.

    Pros

    There are really no pros

    Cons

Where I am employed, there are only two of us that work. The hours are long and you can't request any time off on the weekends. They expect you to be at work no matter the situation.
