Pros
Lots of opportunities to grow.
Balance work/personal life.
Huge company with different cultures of work between different business that allow you to probe different kind of companies in the same company..
Cons
There are some people with important roles who have the bureaucratic culture of a state company.
This is not the place to work if you want to go up quickly.

One of the best thing is stability Repsol offer.

Repsol do not recognize properly well the effort.

Training encouraged for performance reviews

3 years to be 100% vested in your 401(k) and if you leave before 3 years you lose all the employer contribution
Performance reviews are biased towards those in headquarters (Spain)
No fast track career movement, everyone is corralled into the same career progression which is slim to none
Interdepartmental transfers are not allowed until after being in the same position for three years
IT department is a mess
Minimal paid vacation time

Need to institute more of a meritocracy by promoting those that outperform more quickly.

Not extra long work hours. The company has a good growth perspective. Fairly good training depending on your boss. If not satisfied at your current position you have the possibility to change sector and activity within the company.

Very slow career progress. Little difference in compensation between better and worse employees.
Many old former "public" employees with little will to work can turn out into a depressing atmosphere.

Increase mobility of employees. Change compensation scheme to encourage best employees to work at highest standards.

You don´t hear too much about Management, unless they need something from you. Not too much consideration for their employees talent.

Listen to your employees, talk more to them, we need to know what´s going on, pay more attention to your clients

- (Working in Refinery) - generally, not necessary to travel and not to be relocated in a remote part of the world. Generally, it allows you to have good family life.

- Depending on the job, communication with your boss cannot be easy
- It is generally accepted that in the company you cannot say what you think
- Promotion opportunities are rare
- You can be stuck in your function for very long time (for more than 10 years, for example)
- In Refinery, you feel management give more importance to machines than to people
- Lots of bureaucracy, long and slow procedures

- Brufau is giving a good impulse to the company
- More competence needed in middle management
- Middle management should communicate better with their collaborators
