Pros
Great place to advance your career. My Managers are top notch. Anytime I feel I need Training I discuss with my Manager and if I have a solid reason, the Manager makes it happen. Any time I need a day off, no problem, it is worked out.
Flight Benefits are always nice. Keep an eye on flights and you know what flights will probably fill up and which ones will not.
Work environment is laid back but professional. I have all the tools I need to do my job and then some. The sky is the limit. I hope to retire here.
Cons
Other employees seem to complain too much, especially the legacy Frontier people. That is the single worst thing about working for Republic. Amazing that as high as unemployment is, the fact that you have a job is reason enough to not complain.
Frontier people need to get on board and stop the complaining or go work somewhere else.
It has been over a year since Republic bought Frontier and they still complain about the same things.
The company you used to work for was in bankruptcy, and it could not get itself out of bankruptcy. That company was purchased by a different company. That model obviously did not work like you think it did. Lets all hope (yes all of us) that any new model does work.
Advice to Senior Management
Stop listening to all the complaining people are doing. They need to shut up and get to work. I would hate for the company to slip here and there cause the Top Management were busy catering to those few employees who think they know it all.
I want the people who know what they are doing to run the company, not those few employees who know one thing-how to complain.
Pros
Within my job, getting overtime is really easy to get and more often than not worth the extra money.
Cons
Overall pay, insurance is good but you pay out the *** for it. You definitely end up working a lot of hours, dealing with unhappy people, for little to no pay.
Advice to Senior Management
The middle management here are amazing people!! But there's some serious communication problems in the upper managment and honestly they don't seem to care about anything but the bank statement.
Pros
Great benefits, fair work rules, good working enviroment.
Cons
Ever since the compnay purchased Frontier and Midwest Airlines the management has only focused on the Frontier operations and really forgot about the original employees of the contract business.
Advice to Senior Management
Management needs to recall how things worked before buying out a major airline and understand how they have changed and realize the company was created by the employee groups they are forgetting.
Pros
The medical benefits are good. Republic employees pay more for them than people at other airlines.
Cons
Working conditions, management indifference regarding all employees, clueless executives, incompetent middle managers. They don't know how to run an airline.
Advice to Senior Management
Senior management needs to go. An overhaul of this company is badly needed. Take a page from Southwest Airline's book. Hello?
Pros
This company is growing and changing almost daily. There is room to move up, if you keep your head down and mouth shut. The flight benefits and persona/healthl benefits are great.
Cons
Upper management has no idea what really goes on in any of the lower levels. Upper management has forgotten the people and airlines that got them to where there are today. There is a huge factor of good 'ole boy system in effect here, where the boys that are friends can do no wrong and have new positions made for them instead of cutting the dead weight. There are no more frills here, no pats on the back, no praise, just a yelling fest.
Advice to Senior Management
While you are on a spending spree buying other airlines up, and merging, remember this was Republic that made the money that allowed you to buy the other guy. Should we mean something to you?
Pros
the employees are great to work with, the 2 flight attendants per flight makes it a great work enviornment.
Cons
Lack of communication from management, pilot (captain egos).
Advice to Senior Management
Be more receptive to the thought that life does happen outside of work and there are emergencies with family and yes, friends. Allow employees to take accumulated time off when needed. Get involved in the job....walk a mile in my shoes at work and at home. Give feedback to employees, take the time to say good job and if someone is not doing a good job and multiple reports on "bad" employees should be taken as given, senior mgmt needs to listen when we speak. Safety is our first priority and they should again listen when we tell them someone is a flight risk....
Pros
Up and coming Regional Airline of the Year 2008, many flight benefits and lots of good times and fun to be had during employment. We are small but big at the same time, our company is broken into three different certificates which allows us to accomodate different airlines and different requirements to our customers weather you are asking us for a charter or a major asking us to fly routes for you. The compnay as a whole is well kept and the buildings are in good condition.
Cons
Hours, we work some off hours but could be good for traveling during rush hour.
