    extreme favoritism
    immature managers who do not know how to manage even if their life depended on it

    Great company...no complaints whatsoever. Great diversity and core values.

    Unrealistic in expectations and sometimes stuck paying attention to irrelevant things.

    Pros

    Republic services is a great company for name recognition. Also, it seemed to be pleasant for everyone outside of the customer service. 8-5pm work hours with NY, Presidents day, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas as paid holidays.

    Cons

    Not enough people handling phone calls. Call volume seemed to be high and there was a disconnect with customer service and the rest of the office due to being located away from everyone else.

    Advice to Management

    Stop neglecting customer service representatives of important information.

    The Company's core beliefs are great and should provide a great place to work.

    Cons

    To much hiring from outside the company and industry has hurt moral when it comes to promotions. solid performers who have been loyal to the company are passed over. Senior leadership at the area and regional level have not seemed to buy into the company's beliefs.

    Advice to Management

    Don't BS your people.

    Pros

    decent salaries specially when you consider most of the workforce has no formal education.

    Cons

    No work life balance. Very lackluster use of technology to decrease operating costs and very antiquated company structure in which information does not flow from department to department without someone actually getting up and going to get the information or sending an email and waiting for reply.

    Advice to Management

    A company restructure is needed to add value for shareholders. Front line supervisors need to be allowed to be in a position to notice both good and bad behaviors so they can change them. stop abusing your front line salary work force and provide them with the necessary tools to do the job. If you really care about company image, budget to repaint all these ancient Allied waste trucks to republic blue and fix them so they don't leak all over our service areas.

    Pros

    instead of taking 1/2 hour lunch break you can take 45 min to a hour lunch break and get paid for those extra minutes, instead of calling in at the end of your route you can call your co workers on that same town to see if their done and meet up somewhere and shoot the breeze and smoke cigarettes for a half and hour and get paid for it before you call in for misses they were scared to get sent somewhere else and god forbid have to work some more

    Cons

    lots of gossiping among co workers, management blames you if something in the truck breaks down when you had nothing to do with the break down

    Advice to Management

    don't blame the drivers when your old equipment fails, and don't listen to the snibblers gossip
