I worked at ResCare WorkForce full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Allows you to operate your site as if it was a small business. Freedom to develop budgets and staff.

    Cons

Program was very small with funding opportunities and it was often overlooked for corporate support. They wanted to use their equipment purchase contacts which were much more expensive than local vendors. Too much corporate red tape.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be more flexible with smaller sites where money is in short supply.

Not a place you'll want to retire from

I have been working at ResCare WorkForce full-time

    Pros

I like my co-workers and my manager.

    Cons

Terrible benefits and no retirement package. Only receive paid time off which equals out to about two weeks a year. Have to clock in and out which is absolutely ridiculous. If there is inclement weather and the office is forced to shut down then you either have to use your paid time off or not get paid for that time. Don't receive many paid Holidays. The list goes on and on and on.

    Pros

Support from Management, Good Training and Monthly meetings.

    Cons

Pay, Top management doesnt come around too often, no recognition for the work employees do. Since its state funded, employees very seldomly get a raise or a bonus. You are asked to travel frequently and have to go thorough a lengthy expense report process to get reimbursed. When traveling they dont tell you that you can only be reimbursed for lunch and dinner. If your hotel offers a muffin and coffee you are expected to eat there each morning!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Give employees raises and opportunities to advance and grow.

I worked at ResCare WorkForce full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Absolutely no pros to be mantioned. None.

    Cons

Upper management does not expect their management team to "Respect and Care" like there mission statement read: they are patronizing and manipulative. This company has lost it's way morally. Management is found to be somewhat shady in how they conducted business, and disciplinary actions. I often felt that ResCare did not discipline its employees equitably across the board, based upon race and gender.
Majority of the employees have poor work ethics. HR is terrible instead of helpful.
    Poor teamwork and communication.
Rescare is unethical and shady company. If there is a labor law to be broken, this company does it! I'd rather pick up garbage than work for this company again. A piece of advice for job seekers: if you accept their job offer, make sure you have a good employment attorney to fight for your rights.

I worked at ResCare WorkForce full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Gained much experience and learned a lot about people!

    Cons

Not treated respectfully as equal adults by management and no opinion at all if so you will be reprimanded, no benefit to those with families (PTO is terrible) and absolutely does not value experienced and dedicated staff! Again in my local location in Polk County, FL!.......No advancement.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Honor the name of the company RESCARE (Respect and Care) and become real managers by going to a true corporate training and maybe learn a bit about what the frontline staff actually do and get there opinion times have changed!

I have been working at ResCare WorkForce full-time for less than a year

    Pros

You are helping people find work. The training is short. The location I worked for had a lot of parking. The are several offices.

    Cons

The customer base is a challenge. You are working with women who receive public assistance. They must attend the weekly appointments to continue to receive payments. Some come in with major attitude and resistance to the process.
