    Pros

The company offers good benefits, smart employees, plenty of time off and quarterly happy hours. HR is attentive and cares about it's employees.

    Cons

The company hasn't caught up to its size. There isn't a lot of room for career growth, the pace of work is slow, there is a lot of redundancy and it takes a long time for anything to happen.

    Pros

Great building - great cafe - great gym

    Cons

They want more and more from you without offering you any more compensation.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

This is the first company I have ever worked for where there isn't an opportunity to provide feedback on your boss. They do reviews once a year and 3rd part feedback isn't even in the equation. That's why the bad management is never reprimanded or removed.

    I worked at ResMed

    Pros

Great pay; on-site gym; nice people (for the most part); good benefits; beautiful building; fairly stable; on-site cafeteria.

    Cons

Upper management is disconnected from reality. No work/life balance. Horrible communication. A few directors bully their way through the day and use intimidation to get things done - top management is either unaware or does not care about this. Business decisions often lack long-term vision and seem impulsive. Departments work in silos and do not interact much.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

It does not matter how seasoned a director is. If she is a bully and treats employees like garbage, they will all leave and you will be left with a department of one. There is no place for micro-management and rudeness in a successful, global company.

    Pros

Great culture with a diverse group of friendly, intelligent proactive professionals. Pay is good and amazing benefits.

    Cons

In the past few years the focus has gone from quality to quantity in the customer service area. For many years ResMed set a high standard for quality excellence and do to changes made by the new VP whose background is in sales, there's been a fast decline in the morale in the department.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Invest in the right resources (better software tool for customer service) the team at the front line and listen to their suggestions, they are the eyes and ears of your customers. Their voice has much value.

    I worked at ResMed

    Pros

good benefits and some good perks

    Cons

The lack of communication between departments is disgusting creating more unnecessary work for all. I question their corporate ethical code as it appears to be very lacking.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to your people in the trenches doing the work and share information between departments in a pro active manner. ResMed as a whole is very reactive and this makes for poor work flow for all. The house cleaning that is taking place should have started at the top. If asked what happened with ResMed I'd say there was money mismanagement that had to be addressed and in typical ResMed fashion flying by the seat of their pants they are laying people off, forcing others out, and going out of their way to make things difficult for those who have been with the company for many years. Unfortunatly, this used to be a great company to work for. However, do to money mismanagement all hell has broke loose and it has only just started.

    Pros

Nice building, some nice art work

    Cons

The company is changed from best to worst. A good place for salary employee, you can call sick all the time, work start as you pleases then have unproductive meetings through rest of the day and couple of smoke break and two hour lunch. Hourly employee on the other hand clock in and out with finger print detection. No need for degree or previous experience to get hired just know someone in the company. Favoritism to the max. Top heavy. Company reached the peak and now trending down. Just read last financial report. I do not know how they get through ISO audits but now FDA is knocking……………

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

No need for advice. No one cares!!!!???? as long as they get their fat paychecks.

I have been working at ResMed full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

If you are motivated to do big things ResMed will nurture you and won't get in your way.
Company has a great culture...good benefits, PTO, cafeteria, gym. It's a fun place to work with nice happy hours, x-mas party, etc.
People there seem much happier than other companies in San Diego (and I've worked at a couple of the biggest).
The products are the best in the industry and help save lives.

    Cons

There are a few newer VPs in the San Diego building as of the last couple of years...they have bigger egos than others had in the past. As a result I've recently seen a few people cut down in meetings. Overall though, most of management is very good.
The disparity of work that people complete is disheartening. Some people work 12 hour days and eat at their desks, while others bs about sports all day, take long lunches and work out at the gym every day for hours...and then get promoted.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Mick is awesome, one of the smartest people I've ever met and treats everyone in the building with a lot of respect no matter their title. The rest of management should follow his lead as best they can!
