    Pros

    On my floor:

    I have AMAZING coworkers.
Our Internists are the best. They not only know what they are doing but they are good to the staff as well.

    Cons

    Like any other hospital:
Turn over rate is crazy high, no matter what they say.. I'm pretty sure they don't count the people who quit before they are even off orientation because the numbers don't add up.

The reason they quit and the reason turnover is so bad is because they don't staff us very well AT ALL.

    Advice to Management

They already know... But they need to read above.
Staffing, staffing, staffing, staffing, staffing, staffing, staffing, staffing, staffing, staffing, staffing.

    Pros

    Great nurses to work with.

    Cons

Management only cares about $ and not about employees.

    Advice to Management

It is obvious they don't listen to employees.

    Pros

Interesting place to work with high acuity patients. My co-workers. Excellent daycare on site open M-F 0630-1945.

    Cons

Lack of education funds. Pitiful health insurance offerings. Nurses Union that does nothing but pocket money from hard working employees. Large employee turnover on Tele floors effects many outside the dept as well as patients.

    Advice to Management

Need more quality educational opportunities. Need better health insurance offerings. Get rid of Union when you have a chance.

    Pros

Good learning experience. Paid for most of education while going to nursing school. Did require 3 yr commitment. But walking away from nursing school with 1300 dollars in loans was worth it. Salary is now competitive after union has started. Good people, caring and easy to work with. especially as a new nurse. Scheduling was easy, 3 weekend day requirement.

    Cons

Staffing ratios are not very good. Difficult to move up in career. Static work environment. Physically difficult job, very little help as a nurse. No tech support.

    Pros

Great people to work with. The hours are good and the company is good with giving you the time you need to keep your family life intact. Decent cafeteria compared to other hospitals. Lots of long term employees.

    Cons

There is not much opportunity to move up. It is seems stuck in a rut, nothing changes and very hard to get anything to change for the better.

    Advice to Management

Listen to employees, make it a more contempory place to work so employees can WANT to come to work
