I have been working at ResortQuest International full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

There are some great employees, and great work locations.

    Cons

Low pay for level of work experience.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Recognize your employees as an asset instead of just a commodity.

I have been working at ResortQuest International full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Seems to have means to help employees navigate up the ladder though I can see where one's path could be sabotaged by immature, unprofessional coworkers.

    Cons

Moody supervisor and gossipy coworkers; poor housekeeping management and quality control of rentals. Misinformation or conflicting information passed along that leaves new employees uncertain of who to trust.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Treat new employees as you would like to be treated-with patience & kindness, give credit where its due, (those count on me things are ludicrous and lose value when an employee see others receiving them for work he did-not the one who was awarded for it) nip the hush-hush gossip phone calls in the bud & encourage sense of teamwork. Use logical reasoning when listening to more than one perspective on a situation.

I worked at ResortQuest International full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

The benefits and flexibility were nice.

    Cons

I had an extremely similar experience with both the Charleston Islands-Kiawah, SC and Florida corporate (at the ResortQuest corporate level, not Parent Company Wyndham Worldwide) "powers that be" that the former Kiawah reservations employee wrote about above. I experienced investigation, disciplinary write-ups following a situation that mandated corporate involvement, hush-hush messages, etc. Utimately, I was suspended with pay for a couple of weeks while I was investigated for a bogus charge that I was told not to talk to anyone about. Maybe that's policy. I immediately disproved the accusation, waited it out, was called back in and fired, despite the fact the accusation was tossed. Further proof of the bogus investigation, write-ups, etc- I was qualified for full unemployment benefits due to my termination.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Allow the Parent-Corporate dictated values and guidelines to govern at the local level. Be supportive of growing a culture of integrity- first and foremost.

    Cons

Not a lot of pay for the amount of work required.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Need to listen and take advice from your lower level employees. They are the ones that make sure the undesirable jobs are done.
