    Pros

Flexible schedule Positive atmosphere Competitive pay Opportunity for training and clinical/team feedback Supportive Management

    Cons

Stressful/Demanding work environment Hard to feel part of a team Would be very difficult to start w/out considerable prior experience in the field

    Advice to Management

Better training and supervision, don't hire lower level staff through open interview format- low buy-in on the part of employees is the main fault in the system.

    Pros

Open environment, great communication, terrific people, the ability to come to work in the morning and go home at night feeling good about what you do, the knowledge that you're making a difference, being part of a place that's about something important and is always trying out new and innovative ideas.

    Cons

We'd all like to make more money. But Resources' salaries are about what you'd expect for a human services corporation, and they look for ways to add extra benefits

    Advice to Management

We're proud to work at Resources for Human Development, and hope you'll keep this values-based organization moving forward into the future while holding to the ideals and values that make it great

    Pros

People actually care and the work is beneficial to mankind. You really help people on a daily basis and the people who work here genuinely care about helping others. Absolute least amount of political BS of any place I've worked. You also learn a LOT about other people and how they move through systems. Typically RHD partner companies (city of philadelphia, etc) can be valuable networking contacts.

    Cons

Policy, restrictions, paperwork. Lack of clear guidelines administratively. It's hard to accomplish initiatives without staff buy in. Unfortunately some of the partners who you work with on a daily basis can be pretty unsavory. Depending on what team your on you may be exposed to danger- physical/verbal abuse.

    Advice to Management

Things could be tightened up a lot. The organization could be a lot more effective. Obviously this varies by team.

    Pros

Great communication throughout the organization. This is an open environment where there is great adherence to the values. In other organizations there is a stark disconnect between the work environment and the values of the corporation. Management and employees believe in the values, and this translates into true quality services being rendered by the staff. Likewise, employee morale is always high.

    Cons

Benefits are not very comprhensive. There is no retirement match, and there is no tuition reimbursement etc. A young person who still needs to grow professionally, may find it difficult to map out a course of professional growth. There is not a clear path to upper management.

    Advice to Management

Continue to provide a forum for open communication. Find creative ways to improve on benefits.

    Pros

Good supervision at many of their locations, important population to work with, strong behavioral theory, mini classes for any one.

    Cons

Lots of traveling, individual site are fairly unorganized, not much recognition for quality work, many opportunities for bad work to get unnoticed.

    Advice to Management

More specific an individualized supervision, recognize your employees' strengths and weaknesses by actually talking with them. Help train skills please.
