I worked at Restoration Hardware part-time (more than a year)

    Pros

They actually mean what they say with their core values. It was a little cheesy at first, but we discussed them every morning during a meeting and management really worked to make the store work as a cohesive unit. Management also spent quality time with each individual on a regular basis to ensure they enjoyed what they were doing and could make recommendations on what to fix.

    Cons

Customers, but that's retail for you.

I have been working at Restoration Hardware full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

RH's core values of Quality, Service, People, and Innovation is well noticed in the work environment. One value that stands out is quality. Working along side my co-workers, I observed their strive for perfection whether it be as simple as making copies to designing the products. So far, management have encouraged feedback and valued opinions. The culture definitely avoids the cubical lifestyle and promotes self growth.

    Positives:
    People
    Core Values
    Work Environment
    Generous Discounts

    Cons

There are moments when production and projects are slow but when they're not, be expected to work hard and at times, long hours. RH is a fast pace environment and at times can be challenging. The benefits and pay are improving but not quite on par with some other companies.

    Negatives:
    Long Work Hours
    Improve on Pay / Benefits
    Limited Remote Work

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Reading the other reviews, I noticed the discrepancy between HQ and retails. I would suggest rebuilding that relationship to promote success from all fields to improve on sales exponentially. Earning your employees trust and happiness is definitely key. Once achieved, establish programs or events that will cater to the growth of your employees. (i.e. classes, picnics, seasonal events)

    I worked at Restoration Hardware

    Pros

No dress code they say "if you would wear it to the gym, don't wear it here!" But you can walk to work through a monsoon and you will still be accepted in to do your job and get paid.
    Really nice people work there.

    Cons

    So boring after a while
Somebody is monitoring you every second

    Pros

Good pay. They put their employees ahead of the customers.

    Cons

The customer has to pay shipping charges which is a daily complaint. Would be nice if the company could change that.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Discussing why I left my job with EVERYONE was no one elses business. Did not appreciate coming to work the next day for everyone to be discussing it. Very awkward.

I have been working at Restoration Hardware full-time

    Pros

The best thing about working for RH by far are the people. Everyone is very passionate about the brand and pushing our company to the next level. The values are a big part of RH culture and you definitely feel that working here. Every day is different and it's a company that moves quickly, but values opinions of everyone, regardless of level. It's exciting to work for a company who isn't following other companies - and who takes risks.

    Cons

RH is not super structured - so things can be a little chaotic at times. There are a lot of last minute changes so you need to be able to be very flexible.

I have been working at Restoration Hardware full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

I love working here. The people are wonderful. Outstanding culture, values, and beliefs that associates truly live by. I've received multiple opportunities to expand my role and take on more responsibilities. My leaders support me learning and developing myself. The work space is beautiful and features RH furniture.

    Cons

Very fast paced and find out about things very last minute. This obviously works for some and not others. Work life balance and benefits are fine but could be better.

    Pros

I love working for Restoration Hardware because management constantly makes me feel like my work is vital to the success of the company. I really enjoy working in such a creative environment. My work is always interesting and almost never repetitive. I feel like the day I got this job was a pivotal point in my life.

    Cons

I have a brutal commute but that is not Restoration Hardwares fault. I plan on moving for this job and I love my house.
