Senior Consultant (Current Employee) Chicago, IL

ProsVery relaxed work environment, great co-workers. Management are friendly, very professional and respectful. Depends on your project, for some you can work from home.

Great company until you get towards the top

    Consultant (Former Employee) Chicago, IL

ProsMany bright people with a passion for assisting clients meet their goals.

ConsLittle mentoring available to new associates. Lack of enough staff in certain practice areas to participate in larger projects, which would end up building a better reputation for Revere.

Good 1st consulting gig (if you have 3-5 yrs experience); Excellent place if you have 15+ yrs or are at end of career

Technical Specialist (Former Employee) Chicago, IL

ProsDepending on the VP, there is flexibility with the work/life balance. Those w/a lot of experience tend to get onto interesting projects in interesting roles.

ConsThe only people who are successful at Revere Group are those with 15+ years of experience. These are the only people who can move up, get bonuses and fair pay raises, because Revere does not need to "teach" them any skills.

The next person who could be successful is someone who has at least 3-5 years professional experience, but who has never done consulting before. Revere is a good starter company, in that sense. However, that person should not stay for too long, as they will fall prey to what others have indicated in their reviews - no ability to move up, you may learn some new skills, but that will stop after a while. It is incredibly difficult to break out into the next level and really grow your career.

The person who should never work at Revere is the fresh college grad. You will learn some Revere-specific skills, but will not move up in any acceptable period of time. Go find another consulting company to start out at, or begin in industry.

Their main interest is only the bottom line and they are a body shop.

Advice to Senior ManagementDon't change a thing. You'll work yourself out of business, then you no longer have to worry about coming to the office every day, and you are free to do other things.

The little Big Four that couldn't

    Principal (Current Employee) Chicago, IL

    ProsPrimarily local projects
    Strong work life balance

Cons-Promotions are totally based on time with firm, not value delivered
-There are clear chosen favorites, if you are one of them it's great, if not very difficult environment
-Career development is an after thought, management more concerned with billable time

Advice to Senior ManagementFor an integrated firm very siloed in delivery of services. Need stronger internal integration and communication between "the groups". Need to determine where the firm is headed and clearly and honestly communicate vision.
