    Fast-paced, high-learning environment

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

    Pros* High profile company with leading brands that are (arguably) quite glamorous.
    * Excellent learning environment, with a culture that encourages risk-taking and is not too process-driven/encumbered;
    * Exposure to all facets of the business--operations, marketing, sales--no matter what your role is;

    Cons* the nature of the industry means very long planning lead times and continual promotional development (which I suspect is a good thing, but sometimes can be stressful since the pace is so quick.)
    * very cut throat industry where share points are jockeyed around
    * depending on your level, politics can exist
    * high brand spend can sometimes come at the expense of profitability. Which means cuts in personnel, plants, restructuring, have been many in the past 5-8 years.

    Fair employer

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee) New York, NY

    ProsMany long term employees who care about the business.
    Opportunities are there if you work hard and are focused..

    ConsThe market category is volatile; when the company prospers employees do; when the economy is flat, that is when changes are made. Basic business principals followed.

    ProsWorking there is not very hard. They give you quality training to be able to handle every situation you're going thru.

    ConsHoneslty no bad comments. The only downside maybe would be is choosing between your first priority when emergency happens like example family emergencies.

    Professional employees, everybody works hard
    Generally a good place to work,even for a short time

    ConsNot a lot of emphasis on building personal relationships between employees, feels a little aloof- I did not see many employees go to lunch together.

    Good place to work

    Product Manager (Current Employee) New York, NY

    ProsFun, creative industry in the middle of New York City. Really nice working environment with smart, nice people. Large advertising campaigns.

    ConsRevlon was in such a bad place financially, that they brought in finance people to straighten everything out. The financials have gotten so much better, but there are no marketing people at the top level. A brand-driven company should probably have some marketing input at the highest level...

    Advice to Senior ManagementLeadership is getting better all the time. As soon as the leaders trust what the workers are doing, the products will do even better.

    Retail Operations Manager (Former Employee) New York, NY

    ProsGreat Autonomy, They really let you utilize your skills to be sucessful.

    ConsSometimes a disconnect between Marketing and retail ops and sales. This has led to some big failures.

    Advice to Senior ManagementLeadership works hard and many time they work with the hands tied due to a limited budget.
