I have been working at Rexel USA full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Decent benefits. Some corporate departments are very stable and haven't encountered layoffs or RIFs

    Cons

Constant challenges with IT systems. Company spends a lot of unnecessary money on system conversions and on maintaining two major office locations in CT and TX as people fly back and forth each week. Field has encountered layoffs and branch consolidations. Company going through major transition.

I have been working at Rexel USA full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

    Large company, pretty good pay.

    Cons

Horrible benefits, no care or compassion for loyal customers. This company seems to be doing everything in it's power to scare off it's employees and customer's. Zero appreciation shown for employees. Company keeps cutting back on everything they can, including raises. One of the worst office environments I have ever seen, yet management does nothing. Constant tension, and people interviewing daily, looking to get away from Rexel.
Requiring your employees to donate time,to stay on straight time is highly illegal, but a regular practice here. Required to attend meetings during lunch hours, told to stay on the clock for them, and to then get rid of the extra time by Friday, or be written up. This is an alarming practice.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

When an employee brings something to the attention of management, such as critical errors being regularly made, which result in us losing customer's and business, at the minimum, a response from management entailing more than "We'll look into it", followed by nothing is not what is expected, but what's given each and every time. Branch managers are tremendously underqualified, and very out of touch with the customer base, and market they serve.
The decisions being made at the corporate level make one wonder how much of a payoff is involved, as those decisions certainly are not good ones for the company, it's employees, or it's customers.

I have been working at Rexel USA full-time

    Pros

There are pockets of good people there but most of them are leaving. In the past three months the CEO, two CFOs and multiple VP/Directors have left. The CEO and one of the CFOs left without having another position lined up.

    Cons

There is a lack of strategy and everything is a fire drill. HR department is a joke. We have been having a mass exodus of upper management and there has not been any communication or effort to calm the workforce. There is very little confidence in most of the upper management team that is still there.
Rexel Holdings USA is a holdings company for a French company and consists of multiple banners. Between the infighting between banners and the constant unrealistic expectations from Paris, the culture and atmosphere is pretty negative.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pull your head out of the ground, step up and lead the company. Do not expect to do the same thing and get different results.

    Pros

Advancement is possible if you get in with the right people

    Cons

Regardless of how had you wok or how good you are at your job if you do not get in with the right people the job can be very difficult. The lack of support from upper management makes it a difficult work place.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Support your people particularly those in management and the company will go far.

stop looking at employees and customers as just another no. we are the reason u are who u are today! IT TAKES MORE THAN ENCOURAGING WORDS AND FREEBIES TO MAKE AN EMPLOYEE HAPPY. A HAPPY EMPLOYEE IS A MORE PRODUCTIVE EMPLOYEE. Google "best places to work for" to get ideas.
most electricians does not like change and are set in their ways. put the customers interest as your no.1 priority and not how much money u can make because without these customers we would all be out of a job and remember, some money is better than NO MONEY when the competition is so fierce nowadays..
