Pros
Heavily Real Estate Industry. If you're lucky, you'll get a senior management that are willing to train you.
Cons
Senior Management does not treat Associates with equally
Advice to Senior Management
None
Pros
Training provided was of high standards. Got to work on some challening projects that helped me grow a lot as a professional
Cons
Management does not seem to be very flexible. They have a rigid way of operating and are not open to new ideas. I also got a feeling that some members of middle management were not very competent
Advice to Senior Management
Please try and make sure that quality staff is given good opportunities for advancement. Else, the turnover at your organization will continue to increase at an even faster rate
Pros
The pros are a variety of work, you will never do alot of one thing, working with different people and different personalities, and the people from associate to manager are great to work with.
Cons
The cons are that upper management is very rude and disrespectful. Very underpaid. Not a very good CPA program. Very stressful. No work life balance. Too much work and not enough time.
Advice to Senior Management
My advice to management would be to hire more people, give everyone a pay increase, and stop wanting everything yesterday or you will continue to lose more and more people.
Pros
Easy work, good people/co-workers, have several events for employees
Cons
Leadership lacks diversity of thought, I found leadership to lack basic leadership skills of appreciation, mentoring, active feedback on the job. The style of leadership is based on fear, and principals tend to act like dictators. They don't have perspective in the Atlanta office due to their fast growth, and most of the leadership hasn't worked in larger professional and diverse settings.
Advice to Senior Management
Learn how to be a good leader by improving your emotional intelligence, because your best employees will have options, and WILL leave.
Pros
If you are coming out of college there are lots of young people which makes working fun. Also there are opportunities to gain exposure to multiple industries if you make it clear you want to.
Cons
There is very little room to grow. It doesn't matter how much harder you work compared to anyone else, you wont be promoted any faster.
Advice to Senior Management
Take better care of your staff. They are the ones who do all the work and work grueling hours, make them feel appreciated and it would go a long way.
Pros
Reznick Group offers an opportunity for entrepreneurial professionals to succeed in an organized atmosphere. The firm vision is designed to ultimately reward strong individual efforts. Principal ledgers are the basis for their compensation. The more business you drum up, the more money you get paid.
Cons
Senior management does not adequately recognize the successes of Senior associates and middle managers. Getting a "pat on the back" is rare. It is easy to get lost in the shuffle if you do not make a friend in a high place. It is difficult to find a mentor. As a result, there is high turnover (just like most public accounting firms) and career advancement can be a challenge.
Advice to Senior Management
While it is understandable that being a strong mentor or coach is based on the mentor's personality, it would benefit the entire firm if all Senior Managers were required to go through an external training course to become strong mentors. This should be an annual required training to ensure that lessons learned are not forgotten.
Pros
big company, with different options
Cons
Very focused in real estate
Advice to Senior Management
good luck
Pros
Good Starting Salary for the field
Co-workers
Cons
Hours are very very long in busy season
Management Attitude
Unreasonable billing goals
Advice to Senior Management
Slow down.
Pros
The amount of vacation time, made my best friends there, a lot of free food and golf (rounds and lessons), many free training classes
Cons
I have never been in such a negative work place. Senior Management treats the people below them terribly and doesn't know that much about their "specialities". When they make mistakes, which is often, they are quick to throw anyone "under the bus". Also the gossip in the office was as bad as a middle school.
Advice to Senior Management
Grow up - learn how to treat employees. You are too old to be going to happy hour every week with interns and you need to take responsibilty for your own mistakes.
Pros
The work is easy and not too stressful. The people that work there are all young and fun. They have good benefits and pay.
Cons
The work is very monotonous. You feel like you are on an assembly line. The upper management is kinda clueless. Working on a non-real estate client is very rare, and when it happens, nobody knows what they are doing.
Advice to Senior Management
Work on planning audits. Treat employees with more respect.
