Tiring, not a fun place to work

Engineer (Former Employee) Van Buren Township, MI

ProsThere is a good variety of programs to work on, if you are lucky enough to get on them. IT department is very competent and accessible.

ConsAbsolutely one of the worst places I've ever worked. Management is oppressive and unyielding. They constantly underbid on projects but the pressure ends up on the underlings to finish quickly or the company loses money. The atmosphere is somewhat like a sweatshop with everyone scared to even talk to their cubemates. Good luck finding information on how to complete your tasks. If you work here, you will never feel safe about your job. Upper management is not very forthcoming with their employees. The building looks nice from the outside but the facilities are less than desirable. Dirty restrooms, cold in winter, hot in summer. If they do not like you they will try hard to break your spirit. Lot's of employee turnover.

Advice to Senior ManagementChange your culture or no one will ever want to work for you.

Great people and engineers... but too political upper management

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsMany very smart, hard working and passionate colleagues. Exciting projects.

ConsUpper management too political and money driven, instead of focusing on providing the best value to the customer.
    A lot of overtime.

Advice to Senior ManagementLess politics and more doing! You have some amazing people on-board. Replace some upper management highly-paid political prima-donnas with highly-skilled engineers who do the actual work and bring value to the customers. This should make shareholders, customers and hard working employees really happy.

    Not employee focused

    Engineer (Current Employee) Belleville, MI

ProsVariety of programs will give you many challenges.

ConsCompany is too focused on making money. Heavy employee turnover, even Human Resources. Nobody seems happy. Expect heavy overtime, but not at time and a half. Employees feel devalued-finish job fast and move on to the next. Men's facilities are disgusting. Too many employees stuffed into cramped spaces. Do not look to retire here. Very few long term employees-speaks volumes about company culture.

Advice to Senior ManagementEducate yourself on work/life balance. There is more to work besides "just get the work done".

    Good, but not Perfect

Project Engineer (Current Employee) Belleville, MI

ProsRicardo is staffed with a brilliant group of people. Everyone strives to develop new technology and solve the customer's problems. Employees can access all the tools they require (i.e. computers, software, parts fabrication, etc) as long as they have a valid business reason. The pace of work is very fast and there is a good sense of teamwork. Quite simply put; Ricardo has the most motivated and capable group of people I have ever worked with.

ConsManagement tends to be focused on profit over customer satisfaction and building long-term relationships with customers. The company seems to be growing fat with overhead costs (accounting, human resources, program management) and processes rather than growing the revenue stream (more sales and engineering staff). More focus on customer satisfaction would build a better repeat customer base.

Advice to Senior ManagementFocus on excellent project execution and building long-term relationships with customers.
