I worked at Richard Stockton College of New Jersey part-time for less than a year

    Pros

Department was very flexible and accomodating during classroom issues. Administration was easy to work with.

    Cons

Class was very large (44 students), and prevention of cheating was difficult.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Provide clear guidance to adjunct professors regarding student ethics issues. If class size is large a larger room needs to be provided.

I have been working at Richard Stockton College of New Jersey full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

    Great Staff
4 day work weeks May - September
    Beautiful Campus

    Cons

    Reactive rather than proactive
Not enough recognition of females; boys club

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop being reactive to every trend and really analyze the programs and trends that make sense for the area. A 250 a plate alumni gala is not who Stockton alum are. Accept that and have a good old fashioned beef n beer instead and you will be much more successful!

I worked at Richard Stockton College of New Jersey

    Pros

Ability to learn many job functions at once. Pay was significantly higher than most residential life positions. Great staff at that time. Budgets were good so professional development was always an option.

    Cons

Senior management was horrible. There was no direction from the top down and it became frustrating and made the position unbearable. Several of my colleagues and I left within a 2 month period (5 out of 7). Very high school mindset and no loyalty among professionals.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get a real vision and ACTUALLY ARTICULATE IT PROPERLY and you will see better results and fewer layoffs/people leaving
