I worked at Rick Hendrick Chevrolet full-time

    Pros

Great work environment, wonderful customer treatment and experience, friendly co-workers, good managers

    Cons

Pay plan.... base salary of minimum wage plus overtime, the overtime portion is treated like a draw and is taken back out of Sales commissions which are very low, and based solely on numbers of sales per month. $25.00 for first sale each month and goes up slightly for every additional unit. You have to sell about 8 cars to break even on the overtime owed back to company due to the very long hours required. It's a great work environment with good benefits if you can live on around $27,000 ( assuming you sell 7-10 cars per month) and don't mind working 6-7 days a week many of them 12 hour days.

    Advice to Management

Add more sales members so hours can be reduced and days off taken while still providing customers sufficient sales force for the "Wow"experience, look at " no haggle pricing" and higher flat fee per unit to sales.

    Pros

-You get to play with nice shiny new cars and they buy you food on Saturdays.
-If you just so happen to get lucky you'll sell a few cars.
    -The training pay is desirable.
-If you're one of the spoiled ones the hours are very relaxed.

    Cons

-If you're lazy, shy, or just that unlucky, you won't sell hardly anything.
-Management is rude, apathetic, and shows a LOT of favoritism.
-If no one actually SEES the potential that you have, they'll brush you off like dandruff.
-Say Adios to your work/life balance. Ridiculous hours for a small piece of change.
    -No opportunity for advancement.
-Unfair business practices, no one does anything on time.
-Paints a pretty picture upon hire, but after the training pay stops the "indentured servitude" begins.

    Advice to Management

Treat everyone fairly and stop "feeding" certain employees. Remember that CASH IS KING.

    Pros

High volume car dealer with extensive resources. Floor traffic was extensive. If you can't make money here, you need to get out of the business.

    Cons

Long hours. Pay plan can be tricky and unnecessary.

    Advice to Management

Treat your people like part of the team, not a means to get your next award.

    Pros

The pay is alright, but nowhere near as much as you might make elsewhere. Sales volume is good so you do get enough opportunities to talk to customers.

    Cons

Endless meetings, average pay, high turn over, and long hours. You will find yourself working 70 to 80 hours per week and 6 to 7 days per week. Not much of a balance between work and home.

    Advice to Management

Higher qualified employees and invest in them.
