Not enough actual direction from management, as they are cluess about the products & processes.

    Account Executive (Former Employee)
    Saint Louis, MO

ProsLaid back office environment, 36 hour work weeks for the most part.

ConsNO direction from management at all. Their lack of knowledge is laughable. "Accounts" are very old, most of them not even current customers of Ricoh. If they are, they're usually locked into a long term lease which doesn't allow the AE to sell them anything.

Advice to Senior ManagementPlease have more knowledge about the sales processes & products. The systems used here are all different & not integrated, making the sales process an extremely painful one.

    Losing valuable people

    Account Executive (Current Employee)
    San Jose, CA

    ProsLooks promising in 5 years

    Long time employee

    Senior Leader (Former Employee)

ProsSolid benefits, opportunity for those willing to work for it, and the people you work with every day. Ultimately, their culture and treatment of employees was great, especially when you consider the fact that the US footprint is roughly half what it was 15 years ago.

ConsStruggling to find its way. Ricoh must make the leap to a services business or the downsizing will continue its long and tough march. Tension continues to build as the race to get this part of the business on track lingers on.

Advice to Senior ManagementI hope you win your battle to change who you are. It isn't easy for any person or organization.

    Ricoh lost its way...

    Manager (Former Employee)
    New York, NY

ProsVery good benefits package. Excellent training opportunities. Some advancement opportunities.

ConsRicoh was a very good company to work for BEFORE the acquistion of IKON. The integration has been poorly managed and chaotic. The adoption of IKON systems and practices over those already in place was often arbitrary and illogical. A successful company that let itself be overun by executives and senior managers from an almost out of business and ready to close the doors group.

Advice to Senior ManagementClean house and go back to the Ricoh Way; renew Vision Mission and Values.

    Out of balance...

    Major Account Executive (Current Employee)

ProsI work in the Healthcare division. Overall the job is good. Great management. Flexible time schedule working out of home office. Good territory. Communication with the field is good. Lots of good resources.

    ConsBenefits suck royally.
No continuity between management and field. Job requirements always change.
Salary is horrible. If you're not a specialist or upper level position then salary is really bad.
Finding information can be daunting and complicated, especially with no help from managment

Advice to Senior Managementpay your people better in order to keep good talent. negotiate better health insurance.

Too much IKON; too little else.

    Sales Consultant (Current Employee)

ProsIt's a job, at least until they decide to prop up profits by cutting more expenses and people.

ConsIf Ricoh wants to Imagine. Change. they need to start with themselves. What professional company in the 21st century still uses time cards and a bi-weekly payroll. That's trivial in the larger sense but indicative of how Ricoh thinks and acts. Start thinking and acting like more like a white collar company if you expect to compete.

Advice to Senior ManagementSince you can't imagine how to change, find a company you admire and learn from them. Or just admit your highest goal is to run some copy centers.

ProsGreat Managment, great people, fun environment, good company trips

Constoo many sales reps (not enough to go around) WAY too low salaries for sales reps

Advice to Senior ManagementPay for talent so we can keep them motivated to work for us
