I worked at Rite Aid part-time (less than a year)

    Pros

There are friendly coworkers, great community, and many opportunities to save money like family and friends day and discounts for the workers.

    Cons

The work can be tiresome. A lot of heavy lifting and a few disgruntled customers can be stressful but in all a great job.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

There should be better balanced work schedules so there are enough people to handle the busier shifts.

I have been working at Rite Aid full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Vacation offered after 1 year of employment.
    Flexible hours.

Good hours if you earn it. (It's not favoritism, it's rewarding hard work)

Advancement opportunities available to cashiers and shift supervisors.

If you like the general public, retail pharmacy is a great place to be.

20% discount, frequent 30% days, impressive weekly sales you may not realize if you don't work there.

    Cons

Corporate controls payroll based on many factors so most of the time there isn't enough payroll hours

Advancement is tougher for assistants and store managers. As there are FAR less opportunities.

Finding good help feels impossible sometimes. Hiring people then they aren't reliable hurts everyone.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Maybe pay cashiers and shift supervisors more to make the job more desirable to GOOD prospects.

Increase employee discount (slightly) above what customers get.

I have been working at Rite Aid

    Pros

Great learning environment for pharmacy technicians. Pharmacists will help you get to the next step and into pharmacy school if you work hard for them.

    Cons

Customers can be grumpy sometimes due to the fact that they come here for medicine. The customers are ill, and you must make their visit as pleasant as possible.
