Douglas E. Peterson
Current Employee – been working at Rittal (Ohio)
Pros – -Seemingly good opportunity for advancement (Everyone I've talked to with good positions all started lower within the company)
-Pay is pretty good
-Good benefits package
-Up to 4% 401K match
Cons – -Service manuals are hard to find
-Insane stress on corporate image, but not really a bad thing (German company?)
-Can smell funny, because of the massive paint line (3 mi. long)
Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend

Current Employee – been working at Rittal (Ohio) full-time for less than a year
Pros – None. Took the job because it was close to home. Looking for something better. Would not recomend this job to my worst enemy.
Cons – Low pay, only 10 hr. Very high turnover rate. Work six days week every week, 8 hour days, instead of longer 5 days a week.
Advice to Senior Management – Make the pay rate at least comparable with other factories in town instead of comparable to a fast food resturaunt.
No, I would not recommend this company to a friend

Current Employee – been working at Rittal (Ohio)
Pros – Great coworkers and overall good feedback on my work. Flexible schedule and kept me busy enough. Professional environment that kept the scale of the company intact even though the HQ is in Urbana.
Cons – The work I did was rather bland and boring. I felt like I was using one tenth of my brain. From an engineering perspective, it did not present much of a challenge whatsoever.
Advice to Senior Management – Try to stay on top of the people beneath you. I felt like I was given a task to do, but was never given deadlines or anything. It would have helped to have some communication that would have made me feel like the work I was doing was important.

Former Employee – worked at Rittal (Ohio)
Pros – Rittal offers innovative products that employees can be proud of. Rittal employs quality people, who care about their colleagues. Rittal offers an excellent benefit package.
Cons – As Rittal is a privately held, non-union company compensation is not standardized. Employment is "at will" instead of by contract.
Advice to Senior Management – Rittal Corporation would benefit from more efficient dispersal of information. An internal interface that allow one to see contact information and job description of co-workers would benefit the company.

Former Employee – worked at Rittal (Ohio)
Pros – Flexible hours (although that has changed apparently). This being very good if you live across town or have to use public transport to get to work or due to poor weather.
Easy-going atmosphere MOST of the time but it would always get hectic at the end of the month (poor management)
Cons – Month-end rush, every month just to "pump-up the numbers"and make sales look good to headquarters.
Virtually no-way to progressively move-up the ladder in your area. It appears that management would rather keep most people in a certain position so that they would not have to increase their pay?
Advice to Senior Management – I believe that the parent company is using Kaparel for nothing more then a tax write-off because of some decisions I have seen in another company I worked for (now out of business)
No, I would not recommend this company to a friend
