ProsLoved the people I worked with

ConsThe company was poorly run, unreal expectations, printing equipment was old and would constantly need repairs, newer equipment bought for creating books, cards and calendars produced sub par products, the list definitely could go on, but the original company went bankrupt last year and was bought out by another company.

    Good career for budding photogs

    Store Manager (Former Employee)
    Minneapolis, MN

ProsGet to learn the latest in photography, make contacts with suppliers, and hone your customer service skilles

ConsPhotography is a very personal business, some people do not understand that when things break, it takes a while to fix

Advice to Senior ManagementMake sure that your employees are trained very well. They will be asked questions that only some seasoned photographers can answer.

Avoid like a case of herpes

    Sales Associate (Former Employee)
    Bethesda, MD

    ProsDiscounts on products isn't bad

ConsThey screw over their employees by shorting them on their commission, and in giving hours. I wrote a lengthy detailed review of my experience with the company but it was removed so I'll just say there wasn't much to love about working there. They closed stores with no warning and shorted you on earned commission. If you need to take a position there save receipts of all your sales to ensure proper compensation for your commission is paid.

Advice to Senior ManagementPay a better base salary and a flat commission rate instead of different commission rates for each product. And let your employees know when you plan to close a location so they can prepare themselves for the hit financially. It's the decent thing to do.

Easy, Laxed, your time your money

    Sales (Current Employee)
    Dallas, TX

    ProsEasy
    Fun environment
Retail is fun if you make it fun.

ConsCustomers are not very intelligent or up to date with technology. Its like teaching a child.

Advice to Senior ManagementManagement has no problem, its the consumers. Management does a great job in training and attending to their employers needs - highly respectful for their employees comfort.

Despite all the drama with Wolf Camera and Ritz they still stand tall because of their great efforts of making a camera shop possible for the true market of loyal customers. Possibly make sale incentives a little higher.
