    Pros

International hotel discounts to hundreds of properties. Free employee meals, uniforms, great health benefits and 403B program. Everyone treats guests well.

    Cons

Prior work experience in other industries was not considered for several promotion opportunities ex. a person has excelled at Business Sales, yet will not be considered for Catering for Banquet Sales-even...absurd!!!! Staff is not always treated with respect.

    Advice to Management

Recognize and show appreciation for dedicated employees who fulfill the company motto and creed. Quit allowing excellent workers to leave!!

    Pros

good benefits, decent wage, pleasant work environment, willingness to see employees succeed. flexible scheduling and plenty of overtime.

    Cons

Depending on the manager, some managers are better than others. Sometimes staff can feel policed and like if they don't drink the kool-aid they aren't really valued or taken seriously.

    Pros

You can work in multiple outlets in different roles.

    Cons

Management changes every six months so it is difficult to advance career.
Your position in the company changes, along with your pay, based on current need.

    Advice to Management

Don't use empty promises as a leadership tool.

I have been working at Ritz-Carlton full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

    -Great benefits (health,vision,employee discounts)
-Empowerment to immediately resolve guest issues

    Cons

    - Terrible hours, does not allow for work/life balance.
    - Compensation is low compared to competing hotels but expectations are still extremely high.
    - Culture and values are a facade and not lived up to.
    - Management not up to par.
    - Uniforms not up to par (I have seen multiple issues with sizes, tears, quality or even just not enough uniforms to go around.)
-The company loves to talk about growth and improvement but is actually very difficult to move or achieve your goals for growth.
    - Company claims they care about their employees but its all about the numbers.
    - Employee dining is almost unbearable.

The company was fun to work for at times, and at others it was not. It all had to do with the people

    Pros

The benefits, and wages where higher than comparable positions.

    Cons

The high turnover rate. Getting a promotion is more about who you know, than your value to the company

    Advice to Management

Seems as though there are too many managers, often with overlapping jobs. This can cause a heavily micromanaged workplace

    Pros

Good pay for the area. Solid budgets to provide tools for employees and guest.

    Cons

Depending on the management structure at your property it can be very hard to break into management from an hourly position.

    Advice to Management

Bring the Credo and the Employee Promise alive instead of making all the employees memorize it and then become bitter about it over time.

The company is structured and has consistent processes throughout each hotel. They truly believe in hiring from within and the perks are amazing

    Cons

The dress code is strict, but nothing that would deter me from working there again
