    Pros

Great people, amazing products, amazing work culture. Great place to work for getting work-life balance.

    Cons

None that I can think off, the only time you really appreciate working culture or people at riverbed is when you move out of riverbed.

    Advice to Management

Management have to really rethink how to structure the sales team to improve on the sales.

I have been working at Riverbed Technology full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great work environment. Open spaces and very good culture. Office in San Francisco. Opportunities to grow and move to other positions inside the company if you push for it.

    Cons

Going through a lot of changes since going private. Lots of experienced talent leaving the company due to among other things poor compensation benefits since going private (no RSU, ESPP, Options etc) and the fact the new owners expect to turn company in 4 to 6 years which is a lot of time in Tech World. Management is too laid back and not aggressive and visible enough.

    Advice to Management

Don't wait for talent to approach you when there are an open positions instead Management should approach good candidates and sell them the position, make them feel wanted. For me that is the part of being a leader which the company is lacking due to its laid back personality.

I have been working at Riverbed Technology full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

You are treated with respect and if you mean well and work hard, that is well recognized. Despite the market challenges and recent layoffs, the culture has remained solid and one of the best I have come across

    Cons

Some rushed decision in the past few years have forced privatization and the company is taking step back. The PE environment is not for everyone

    Advice to Management

Continue to stay true to your culture and treat the employees well. Do not get conservative under PE ownership

I have been working at Riverbed Technology full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Some of the smartest people I have ever worked with. Very cooperative and morale is getting better by the days. Work life balance is superb and senior management really does care about the employees. But most importantly, there is palpable new energy as we attack new frontiers. And as one manager advised "at Riverbed, you really do get out what you put into it" And it's absolutely true.

    Cons

Beginning of the year, there was some uncertainty as folks cashed out after the Private Equity buyout. When all your shares vest, it gives the $$-cushion to try something new. I get that. But that's all over and done now.

    Advice to Management

Keep the messages flowing to the employees. The new town halls and communications are excellent.

I have been working at Riverbed Technology full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The new Riverbed 2.0 after becoming a private company is very exciting to work for. The startup culture is creeping back in. Silos are broken down. People are encouraged to work on what they want to and management is very open to feedback. SH Engineering has a very good leadership team in place and things are looking very positive. There is a feeling of "my company" and everybody wants the company to be successful. A big reason for this has been the managers and the upper management. Though people leaving the company is slowly down, hasn't stopped. This is impacting the daily operations a bit but hiring is also picking up and the people who are staying back are empowered and excited. Culture is awesome and Riverbed has been voted as one of the best places to work for consistently.

    Cons

Not a con but a bonus plan might be good now that there is no ESPP since Riverbed is no longer a public traded company.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the good work. Continue empowering and listening to people.
