I worked at Road Ranger (More than a year)

    Pros

Great customers. great team membersand as long as you're kissing trockight butt your life is pretty decent.

    Cons

terrible facilities, upper management that doesn't have a clue,no consistency from upper management, part of marketing is family so they do whatever they want. If you are looking for a career don't go here there are very few long-term employees most of which couldn't go anywhere else.if you have any good ideas your district manager or marketing will take it and say it was theirs

    Advice to Management

get consistent and structured. Let the managers run their stores and instead of telling them how to do itbe there and support them instead of being armchair quarterback.

    Pros

paid pretty well for the industry and was a company that was growing. They really hit their stride when they were able to merge with Pilot Flying J.

    Cons

Constant change of vision. There was no continuity in decision making. Three Presidents in three years.

    Advice to Management

Allow your people to be of the solution. They are not the problem if you train them well enough and manage them properly.

    Very Good Pay, Great People!

    Cons

Limited labor hours to work with, bonus program is non existent, Upper Management has no idea what it takes to run a store.

    Advice to Management

Add labor back to the stores.

I worked at Road Ranger full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great employees, mostly great customers, meeting new people everyday, being able to help my employees by scheduling them at the times they needed

    Cons

Low pay for managers and staff, no free meals (Ever), constant threats of write ups. No concern for employees at all. Difficult upper management. Stressful at this location. Will not let you update equipment, and they expect you to do your own maintenance.

    Advice to Management

Show employees a little loyalty. There are some awesome employees at this store, show them some thankfulness.

I worked at Road Ranger part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

I can't really think of any pros for working at Road Ranger. Well, they do promote from within. I suppose that could be considered a good thing.

    Cons

Minimum wage, insufficient training, working alone, ever-changing schedule, multiple robberies, poorly maintained.

    Advice to Management

Pay your workers more...at least $10 an hour. Provide intense, specific training and make it longer than a few days. Never let employees work the store alone.

    Pros

Mostly middle-aged to older employees. Nice people; close-by; can be fun; Hard working employees that take pride in their workplace.

    Cons

Very stressful; You are the only person on third shift; Employees are treated like they should perform the work of two people for minimum wage. Employees have to pay an average of $22 for work shirts that advertise Road Ranger that must be worn while working.

    Advice to Management

Treat your employees better. Provide your employees with some perks such as providing work shirts!
