    Pros

Colleagues were the best part of working here.

    Cons

Very cheap when it comes to upgrading a computer or adding any software for trading or anything else need to run your strategy/business. Sometimes you need to speed a little money to make money.

    Advice to Management

Open up the purse a bit. Also need to hire some "A" type people. Especially when it comes to the marketing area to raise assets!

  6. Helpful (1)

OK as a stepping stone, limited opportunity for growth

    Pros

As an RFP Writer, you will have have frequent interaction with investment professionals. It is a very relaxed, slow-paced atmosphere which can be a pro or con depending on your careers goals.

    Cons

Ideas for improvement are not welcome, limited opportunities for professional growth, taking on extra projects or going above & beyond is discouraged. I was accused of not being happy with the position and trying to get a promotion because I would ask for more work. I came from a larger firm in NYC, where my peers were in grad school, taking the CFA, worked till 7/8 regularly, attended internal training sessions, etc. This environment at Robeco is much slower, and I wasn't happy. If you are not looking for a career challenge, and want to take a 1 hour lunch everyday and leave by 5pm, this is a good company to just do the bare minimum.

    Advice to Management

If someone is spending hours every day surfing the internet and leaving every day at 5pm because there is not enough work, I don't think they should be discouraged from seeking extra projects.

  7. Serious business atmosphere with a few possible improvements to be made.

    Pros

    Generous vacation time
    Understanding bosses
Helpful IT department, accommodating of requests
    Lenient about personal issues
Helpful support staff and approachable senior level employees

    Cons

    HR not open to changes
    Not many team building events
Rare to have company functions outside of holiday party
    Older average age
Not super clear on career progression or options within the company

    Advice to Management

The ways that Robeco could be improved include making the office more a team type setting by hosting events, lunches, etc. They have great benefits including vacation time and most bosses are willing to give leeway on appointments, schedule issues, and so on. The work itself is interesting and challenging, but having the eye on the prize / next step in your career is something that Robeco could improve. With offices all over the world, I believe they should have an exchange program where you see how your job is done in different countries and bring back insight. It is definitely a "get your work done and you're good" type of setting currently.

    Pros

Good Compensation and benefits they give a loose rope to work with which you can use to your benefit or not

    Cons

It seems that they dont believe in staying up to date with their systems so you will end up fighting with IT for things,

    Advice to Management

Increase spending on tech need to to bring supervision over employees to a higher position within the comapny, need more fun

    Pros

The employees are talented, nice people, and they all specialized in their sector, whenever you have question you can always go and ask anyone there. Their model is improved on a monthly basis, so they are quite advanced.

    Cons

You may not feel so stimulated by the surrounding people. The over-emphasized on their themes and strategies may make you feel a a lack of innovation.

    Pros

Superb team - great thought has obviously gone into hiring people who are a "good fit"
Very positive work culture with plenty of bonding outside of work
A great place for a self driven professional
Plenty of opportunities to travel (conferences/workshops)

    Cons

Some departments/offices can be quite bureaucratic and difficult to work with.
The strict focus on compliance can be frustrating when working under tight deadlines.

    Advice to Management

The company could benefit from improved IT infrastructure. Should explore enterprise grade cloud solutions and modern day email/workflow systems that take full advantage of mobile platforms.
