Pros
- Job Security very high, even through hard times.
- Great opportunities for international assignments.
- Bosch makes long term investments and sticks with them.
Cons
- Extremely bureaucratic culture
- Extremely hierarchical culture
- Multi discipline is predicated on corporate level, but in reality it is very hard to shake off one's "title"
- Creativity is replaced by top-down protocols and orders
- The HR department has literally two left feet; honestly it feels they work against the associate.
Advice to Senior Management
I understand the benefits of standardization, but please understand that this does not come without drawbacks. This obsession with standardization has resulted in a very boring and rigid environment. Not to mention business ideas that do not make sense but are PUSHED because they are the "way things are done".
Stop just giving lip service to creativity and entrepreneurship; either embrace changes or just stop lying to the associates and accept the reality. Potential associates will then know in advance what they are getting into.
Pros

Although is has a structure for product development, it has so many processes therefore it is difficult for engineer to think outside of the box and enhance the innovation.

Eliminate multiple layer of approvals so the work can task can execute faster without waiting for many approval levels.

Benefits are good, the salary is not bad. Advancement is possible, but takes sometime. Possible to move between departments if you are not happy.

The amount of work is not distributed equally. It's not what you know about who you know. Sometimes managers are over overbearing.

Advice to Senior Management
Treat the competent and motivated employees, fairly
Pros
High salary and good benefits, relatively functional corporate culture; however, execution of recent large RIF may have destroyed it.
Cons
Executive management periodically proclaimed the need to trust them and would drive this home as a trait for everyone, meanwhile leaks were coming back from competing companies to bosch employees. Bosch had been trying to sell off its US brakes division and had succeed in part to Akebono.
Advice to Senior Management
It takes a lifetime to build a reputation and only a moment to destroy it.
Pros
Relaxed atmosphere. Employees and mentors were friendly to work with. They work on real technologies. Anything from wireless to multimedia to engine mechanics is done here. Found several bright and interesting people here.
Cons
A bit too formal a place to work. The dress code is formals on most weekdays! No cafe nearby, have to walk a bit to get to food during lunch (not too far though).
Advice to Senior Management
Don't have very specific advice to the management because I was there only for a short time and hence its not fair to comment.
