    Pros

    Production opportunities. Need to go
    through MAU.

    Cons

Overtime, leadership does not use resources available to show that they value their assoc's. No recognition for going above expectations. Not the same company that it was 20 yrs ago.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

You need to make sure that direct leadership recognizes their assocs. Instead of making sure that depts meet their quotas, check to make sure that everyone is being recognized appropriately. Address when necessary.

    Pros

This is a privately held company with a philanthropic parent organization, which makes for a very stable and diversified environment. Employees have a strong sense of Pride of Organization and live the Bosch Mission, Vision and Values, and have high standards and integrity. We work hard, but there is a strong emphasis on quality of life too (things like Inspiring working spaces, flexible work options, wellness programs, onsite fitness centers, team building events, and appreciation programs). The compensation is fair and typical to other automotive suppliers based on external and internal markets, there are annual reviews and increases, bonus programs for all levels of employees, and performance recognition awards for employee achievements. Benefits are generous and affordable, the company match on the 401K is much higher than other companies, and there is an additional defined contribution retirement plan that the company contributes to for each employee. Holiday and vacation programs are generous and flexible. There is constant training and development opportunities, and a tuition reimbursement program. Bosch is big on corporate social responsibility and gives employees paid time off work to volunteer. Bosch encourages employees to work in cross-functional and cross-divisional jobs in order to have a better overall business acumen and understanding of the global organization, and many employees get to travel internationally or go on assignment. There are a lot of open jobs and this allows internal employees to move around and get different experiences - makes long service interesting.

I have learned so much working for this company! There are many highly skilled and committed employees and leaders that all keep the company going strong.

    Cons

Base salaries are only average, but all the other bonus and retirement plans really add up and the quality of life and learning is awesome. There is a high volume of work, but probably due to it's large business portfolio and progressive nature in innovation.

    Pros

Nothing good from my perspective. They do not care about the growth of their employee.

    Cons

    1. The job is totally different from their description when I applied.
    2. The company does not care about the trainning their employees. Just push them to work.
    3. Do not even get paid on time. They still owe me one week's salary after I leave for one month....
    4. Working environment is extremely bad.

Current Employee - Software Engineer in Farmington Hills, MI

I have been working at Robert Bosch LLC full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

The company as a whole is fairly stable, but business practices company-wide in software departments are leading to less and less focus on quality software achieved through design and more towards iteration which can be both needed and frustrating due to one task taking months to finish.

    Cons

Working with low-cost overseas colleagues causes stress and missed deadlines. Lowest level of management understands problems, but as you go up the chain the only thing evaluated is cost. Stress and overtime by local employees to patch production critical products at the last minute isn't a factor in business decisions and you will likely get burned out over time.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Figure out how to make your senior people more efficient instead of outsourcing and blaming others management for fundamental problems (like lack of consistent workforce) when things don't work.

    Pros

Individual divisions have great autonomy of operation management, allowing for a medium to large company feel within the deep global support of a huge company. Clearly profound moral foundation, and the expectation that employees do their role in supporting those values. Great training opportunities. Opportunity for career development on an international field.

    Cons

Global business can mean off-hour work. Pay is a tad below area norm.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Carry on! The openness and communication is first rate and appreciated.
