I have been working at Robert Bosch LLC full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Bosch makes world-class products, in a variety of industries. As a global company, they play in many markets across the globe.

    Cons

Bosch is its own worst enemy. They have great products, but they don't know how to join their power to their advantage. The company does not appreciate creativity, and only looks for "how Europe does things".

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Take advantage of the strengths and talents of your employees. Don't be so afraid to think out of the box. And absolutely find ways to reward and promote your employees, rather than bringing in employees from other countries to take away promotional opportunities.

I worked at Robert Bosch LLC as an intern for less than a year

    Pros

I was able to meet a lot of new people.

    Cons

Hardly any perks; compensation was at the absolute baseline.. Office culture was slow. Nobody had any sense of urgency to make things happen while everybody maintained, at a surface level, that everybody was "working hard". It was really tough as a young, excited intern to interact with people who have been in the field for 40 years who believe they know it all and reply "that's just the way it works" to most of my questions. It was seriously quite a boring internship. Additionally, some of the employees were not as smart as they believed.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Consider giving the interns their own project to work together and figure it out. Think about "low-hanging fruit"- give them some real work that would be beneficial and that align with their interests but also will help the company.

Expect more out of people- the company could do a lot better if you push for everybody to be A players...

I worked at Robert Bosch LLC as an intern for less than a year

    Pros

The best reason to work here is the benefit of having the company name on your resume. After interning at Bosch, I felt more respected when it came to interviews and the career fair. I learned a lot at the company and how the automotive industry works in addition to all the rules and regulations that comes along with it. They also pay very well.

    Cons

No oversight whatsoever. At one point, all my managers thought I was busy with a different manager. So, in response, no one would give me work to do because they thought I was busy doing work for someone else. Thus, I was left sitting there with no work to do and had to literally go around the office asking for work to do. In return, I was given "grunt work", but I suppose that's what interns mostly do anyways.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pair a manager and/or person with an intern and make them do actual projects. I had zero projects, only little side gigs to do which I didn't learn much from.

I have been working at Robert Bosch LLC full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

I read through most of the other Robert Bosch reviews and was shocked to learn how accurate they are!

I have worked for OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers. I don't believe any other automotive company can offer more job security. I have never experienced any type of fear of loosing my job. A lot can be said for that in todays economy.

Good work/life balance with telecommuting from home.

    Cons

Career advancement opportunities are very limited for those that are not fluent in German. I hate to say that, but it really is true.

I have been working at Robert Bosch LLC full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Learned a lot of new programs with this Company that were helpful for future employement.

    Cons

Too much pressure on employees from Upper management, and no cross training.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get to know what responsibilities your employees have to make your Company successful. Bonuses would be nice. A little pat on the back once in while would help the moral.

I have been working at Robert Bosch LLC as an intern for less than a year

    Pros

Company makes a high quality product, very conservative and tries to avoid lay-offs

    Cons

Senior management all German. Some of the employees were not qualified but had worked there for years. Overly conservative in making decisions. Old software made it difficult to get things done.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Pay for performance and experience.
