Pros
A lot of job, a lot of learning and challenges, you can see te complete design process from conceptual design to the introduction on line
Cons
no personal time, need to stay late to complete crazy schedule, lack of support form the manufacturing plant, approvals takes for ever
Advice to Senior Management
talk among you, everyone job is important so be sure that your people understnd that and helps the other deparments in time and manner
Pros
They have pension which a lot of places do not offer today - this is honestly the only decent thing I can say about the organization.
Cons
The time you need to stay in order to receive a decent vacation package, the pay is so so, and they do not offer bonus unless you in management who have direct reports. So if your going for an interview get as high as you can with the salary as who knows how long it will take to receive another raise! It is truly old school white male boys club. I have not seen anything like this sine the 70's I really have walked back in time in regards to diversity.
Advice to Senior Management
Provide feedback to the associates some positive not just negative it helps with moral people are really verbally abused its truly ashame!
Pros
Bosch power tools is a great place to get experience in working for a large multi national company.
I had many opportunities to work with employees in other parts of the world
Cons
Not a division that thinks strategically and decisions can often feel disappointing to the "worker bee".
There are not enough opportunities for career growth and salaries are below the levels of other companies in the area.
Pros
Break times, scheduling, shifts, and nice break room
Cons
This company is 90% temp employees. They can run their business paying low wages to these folks and not have to offer them benefits. Getting hired on permanent is based solely on how fast and hard you work. You basically have to work your butt off for low pay to get noticed. There are folks out there working a year and still a temporary. It's a shame that companies can do this. The work I was doing was hard labor. The pay made me sick.
Advice to Senior Management
Offer more opportunities for permanent hire. Check your management, team leads for experience and professionalism. Appreciate the work that is being done by those in the actual warehouse, instead of just recognizing those that work behind a desk wearing comfortable shoes.
Pros
Good Processes, people are nice
Cons
Do not understand the market, way too much internal approval to do your job
Advice to Senior Management
Need to focus on users, not internal
Pros
The pay was excellent and the benefits weren't bad at all. It is one of the cleanest warehouses that I have ever worked in.
Cons
Management was professional when standing out front, but behind the secens it was a cut throat type of atmoshere and no one could seem to do anything about it. Along with cruel management, favoritism was a key component to job promotion.
Advice to Senior Management
Build relationships with employees who will allow you to do so. They will not only respect you but they will trust you as well.
Pros
Excellent Worldwide Reputation
Dedication to Quality Engineering
Fun People......most important
and Positive Work Environment (mostly)
Cons
Lots of paperwork justifying your existence in industrial channel
Old guard managed by fear ( they were cleaned out by 2010)
OK pay draws ok help......many of best and brightest have bolted
Slow to market....losing market share and relying too heavily on old standbys
Advice to Senior Management
keep open communication to field personel and keep regionals training and working with field sales reps. Refocus with understanding that Bosch cannot operate in USA like Germany.
Pros
Good tools.
Made some good friends among associate employees.
Pay when the economy was good was not bad.
Well recognized company.
Cons
No sense of direction in the long term business goals..
Unbelievable back stabbing at the corproate office.
No teamwork whatsoever.
Most of the the rats ae jumping ship (most of tenured management has left the company in the last several months, which may be a good thing)..
Very little support to the field from the corporate office.
Very unethical behavior witnessed in the field and at the corporate office.
If you are at your core a dishonest, selfish, evil person....this may be a good place for you to work.
Advice to Senior Management
Institute some kind of ethical training and hire honest, ethical people. When upper and middle management behave without scruples and dishonestly it sends the wrong message to all the employees and it just multiplies. Promote teamwork.
Pros
Good International Experience
Diverse Workforce - Many employees from all over the world
Tools are fun to work with
Great discounts on all Bosch Products
Cons
The number of processes con be suffocating - at times it feels like following the process is more important than getting products to market quickly.
Advice to Senior Management
Need to realize employees are greatest asset and treat them as such - certain managers act as if employees are easily replaceable and don't care how employees are treated.
Pros
discount on tools. not much else.
Cons
no advancement within the organization unless you are German.
Advice to Senior Management
focus on the customer needs
