    Very Fair Company

    Supply Chain Manager (Current Employee)

    Pros-No Dress Code
    -Very good starting salary
    -Company measures and rewards good performance

    Cons-HR is somewhat of a mess; communication could use improvement

    Advice to Senior ManagementNeed to hire experienced HR staff who has worked with another small company for a while.

    Treats employees like expendable bags of crap.

    ProsThey will hire anyone, largely because they have to.

    ConsPeople quit and are fired on a weekly basis, while more are quickly hired to take their place. Training is minimal, and you won't be doing what you were hired to do most likely. You'll be asked to sell a certain amount of product or you will be cut. Yes, even if you signed up for a limited or non-sales position.

    Advice to Senior ManagementTreat your employees fairly and as valuable individuals, and they will stick around. You'll lower recruitment and training costs, and you'll improve the experience of your customers. As it is, there's about a 50% chance that whoever a customer calls, it will be someone who is new and doesn't know what they are doing.

    Challenging, but rewarding place to work!

    ProsGreat Pay - base pay very competitive, overtime pay given, bonuses awarded when the company is profitable
    Flexible Time Off (12 weeks of planned time off + 2.5 weeks of personal time off)
    Very intelligent, hard working colleagues
    Fast-paced work environment - never a dull moment!
    Fun company atmosphere - company outings, cookouts, pot lucks
    Ability to analyze current company/business policies and create better avenues to be implemented (analysis is required and data-supported suggestions are implemented)

    ConsChallenging expectations, but that also gives way to very important responsibilities.

    ProsThe firm offers competitive hourly pay, plus bonuses when based on performance when the company is profitable.
    Fun colleagues and atmosphere.

    ConsSome clients are a challenge to deal with - the clients can be unreasonable if not illogical.

    How to grow a company the right way.

    ProsIf you are:

    Able to focus like a laser on providing value to the company and service to its customers;
    Able to understand the strategy of the company and your role in it;
    Able to constantly improve;
    Able to defend business decisions you make very well (at any level);

    You should consider working here. There are truly top-tier opportunities for people with a very specific ability to work in this culture.

    ConsIf you can't do any of the above (Pros) don't even think about it.

    Advice to Senior ManagementBetter communication of the "vision" of the company in general but particularly as it relates to the role of the business unit and/or individual person. Addition of objective performance measurements (if they have not been implemented), truly anonymous peer review process, and not overly relying on those reviews as basis for pay.

    More welcoming view of change/ideas and culture that doesn't promote territorialism. Note to readers: Ideas and change are encouraged but be well prepared for questions.

    Long term as the company continues to grow it must be careful that fear doesn't stifle innovation and that territorialism is managed.

    Good pay, stressful environment and lots of office politics.

    Overall flexible schedule
    Good for college students
    Open nights for students/second career convenience

    ConsNo health benefits
    Boss would come yell at you loudly in front of everyone
    Fostered a competitive nature between employees, which caused problems
    Management had HORRIBLE method of measuring productivity and would not listen to suggestions
    Certain employees were targeted and soon after, fired (very 'teacher's pet' style)
    Horrible sick/vacation time packages (12 days for sick and vacation, personal days all year)
