  1. As far as the service industry goes, Rockfish is a great restaurant to work at.

    Pros

Rockfish takes care of its employees and has always been a fun environment to work in. Unlike the horror stories I've heard about working other restaurants, I've never had much to complain about.

    Cons

As with any job in the food service industry, the worst you're going to have to deal with is bad tips and crazy people.

  2. Completely unprofessional.

    Pros

None really. Maybe location, ii you live near it.

    Cons

Bad food, bad management and out of control employees. It IS NOT a scratch kitchen. Most of the staff (especially FOH) needs a lengthy seminar in etiquette and how to act in front of the general public. Not mention basic food knowledge. Onsite management being the root of the entire problem. Not only are major issues overlooked, they are actually encouraged.

    Advice to Management

    Naaahh.

  3. I absolutely love my managers. The clientele is also outstanding since the higher ticket prices bring in good people

    Pros

The clientele are more professional and are educated so they know to tip their servers and usually do a good job at doing so.

    Cons

Like any job waiting tables, the money is not always consistent. You can make $35 an hour or $11 and hour.

    Advice to Management

Always make sure you take advice from your servers on what customers are saying on the floor.

    Cons

horrible management, no respect for my schedule of availability, overworked, overstressed

    Advice to Management

look up the word "respect" in the dictionary- if you expect me to respect you, you must respect me in return.

    Pros

The people and the customers are great. I have never had a bad experience and it has a very intimate and local feel

    Cons

While the compensation is a little bit below what you would get at a larger chain, the teams and senior management are great. I can't say enough great things about this place.

    Pros

Manager is laid back and reasonable with scheduling. You will make pretty good money. The people you work with are nice. Especially the ones that have been there for awhile.

    Cons

The hours can be tough. If you are one of the first people to get cut chances are you will probably not make very much money. YOu have to stay on in order to make good money.

    Advice to Management

Decrease the amount of tip share. It is only 3% of sales but ends up being more like 30% of you take home money.

    Pros

You can wear Tshirt to work. The food is good. It is a laid back atmosphere. It is only open until 11 on friday and saturday. It is open till 9 on Sunday.

    Cons

low pay 2.13 a hour. Tip share they say is 3% of your tips which isnt bad but it is 3% of sales. So lets say you sold 800 worth of food. Your tip share is 24 dollars. Let's say you made 128 dollars in tips off of 800 in sales. well the tip share is actually 18.75 percent of your tips which is alot.

    Advice to Management

    Lower the tip share
