    Friendly staff, but a stressful job.

    Great place to work if you can get in

    Radiology Tech Aid (Former Employee) Rockford, IL

    ProsGood benefits for full timers and really great co-workers in the Radiology Department. Friendly, team players and supportive atmosphere.

    ConsCost saving measures make it hard to get hired even part time. I was a Registry Tech Aid while a student in their Rad Tech school and a hiring freeze was put in place so no job when I finished school. Many registry or per diem techs so no steady hours or benefits for these workers.

    Demoralizing, nursing used to be very strong at RMH when I first started.

    Staff Nurse (Current Employee) Rockford, IL

    ProsLevel I Trauma Center, Pediatric ICU, CV program. The Medical staff overall have a high regard for nursing and treat nurses respectfully.

    ConsPay cuts for nursing staff, but not administration. The benefits are more & more expensive every year and cover less. Shifts are staffed for minimum patient coverage.

    Advice to Senior ManagementHospital staff and Senior Administration have separate and disparate views on seemingly everything. I do not know what you are hearing from middle management, but I do not know anyone who is happy working for you. They are glad to have a job. But not happy. This does not benefit the patients. We provide great care now. Image what we could do if we liked coming to work.

    It's a good place to work if your a clinical or management.

    ProsGreat benefits. Good education opportunities. Open door policy for all management and execs.

    Conspay for non clincal is awful. No recognition for work well done. They keep reducing staff, adding work load and then wonder why everyone has a bad attitude when there's no pay adjustment. management tends to turn a blind eye to employees not pulling their weight. If you're not clinical, you're not valued.

    Advice to Senior ManagementWhen you do employee surveys, seperate the clinical staff & management surveys from the rest of employees. A nurse or manager making the wages they do will always say they aren't motivated by wages. But anyone else, that can't live on their salary would probably tell you different. Also change the review process. If the work load increases, take that into consideration even if it's within the realm of the current duties. As people leave, and more work is put on current employees, a small compensation for the additional duties or work load would make people feel appreciated. Now they feel taken advantage of and disposable.
