    Pros

CEO and executive leadership team truly care about employees. All are personable and approachable. Great benefits. Competitive pay. Values promoting from within, so opportunities for advancement exist at all levels of the organization.

    Cons

I don't feel there are any cons to working for this company.

I have been working at Rockland Trust part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Rockland Trust's CEO is very employee oriented. He'll stop into branches just to say hi and make sure everyone is happy and always has a smile on his face. There is a good customer base and Rockland offers competitive fee rates which keep customers happy.

    Cons

It can be pretty slow, especially in the summer. If you can handle sitting and waiting for customers to come in its a great job but if you are the type of person who needs to constantly be doing something it might not be the best pick.

    Advice to Management

Since Rockland Trust has acquired many smaller banks, there are a lot of managers who were there Pre-Rockland. Sometimes there is confusion between the way the Training Team teaches you to do things and the way your managers want you to do it.

    Pros

Good benefits. Decent "banker" hours. Paid volunteer days 2. Pay for travel time. Reimbursement for most expenses. Overall pretty nice people within organization .

    Cons

You may not end up doing the job you were hired for. Claims to be a needs based bank but goals are high enough you must push sales.if you make a mistake they broadcast it bank wide.

    Advice to Management

Review your branch managers and their teams and allow people to do the job they were hires for.and lose the error reports that go out bank wide.

I worked at Rockland Trust full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Large company, likes to promote from in-house, genuinely knows their clients at the branch level.

    Cons

Some customers can be extremely difficult and demeaning towards bank employees, but there are not many (if any) procedures in place to avoid this or take action if a customer makes an employee uncomfortable.

    Advice to Management

Keep doing what you are doing! Its a great place to work with a competitve salary -- and many employees would prefer to stay and work up the chain. There will always be a few rotten eggs customer wise that treat employees poorly.

    Cons

Micro manage, ole boy network, woman are not compensated or as appreciated as much as men.work life balance whats that? Popularity contest.

    Advice to Management

Take a serious look at who makes and contributes. to the business. Some persons get by with winning smiles. While others are overlooked and under compensated.
