    Cons

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

No professionalism ! Upper management have no idea what they are doing! They are hiring a lot of Citizens Managers and HR including the Vice President is taking their advices were to hire potential candidates or not. Definitely need the real cool aid drink to get hire in this company

    Pros

Rockland Trust promotes employee success in countless ways. They look to help employees become better at what they do and move up in their work. Upper level management makes it a priority to personally meet with every new employee.

    Cons

The training process was lengthy and a pain but I ended up being more than prepared for my first day on the job.

Good work life balance and opportunities to be promoted from within. Lots of opportunities for training for employees that want it. Benefits are good, especially the 401k match of 6.25%.

    Cons

Experiencing growing pains as they become a bigger bank and need to get more support staff in place to comply with regulations.

I have been working at Rockland Trust full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Customer base is loyal. Small enough to know everyone.

    Cons

Any decision even if correct is questioned by middle management. Under staffed in certain demographic area's. Trying to copy larger banks ..

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep the loyal customers and customer facing employees happy. Not enough attention to compensation and work life balance in retail.

Former Employee - Peak Time Teller in Fall River, MA

I worked at Rockland Trust part-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Small enough to know everyone, large enough to provide ample opportunity for advancement. Company values are easy to understand: serve Massachusetts by providing the best possible relationship between the bank its clientele. Branch hours of operation vary, but are all better than working retail

    Cons

District manager tries to run against the company directives a little, makes getting referrals much more challenging than it ought to be.
Business model needs some flexibility to account for the differences in the communities served by the bank. Example - there is a world of difference between the clientele of a branch in Brockton and one in Bridgewater.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get out into your districts more, get into the branches. Celebrate the diversity found across the Rockland network, and embrace a more community focused banking experience.
