    Pros

People are really good so the work environment is great.
    Cool products.
    9/80 schedule.

    Cons

    Innovation is not a focus.
Strange processes hinder everything since company is sure no one does engineering like them and refuses outside advice on processes and software tools.

    Pros

Excellent in promoting work-life balance for salaried employees.
    Challenging projects available.
Recognizes good performance in the form of small rewards

    Cons

Does not recognize personal improvement. Although they will pay for your qualifications upon initial hiring, if you obtain higher qualifications (ie. graduate degree) while working there; it is completely unrewarded. You have to quit and come back to achieve recognition of your achievement.

    Advice to Management

When folks are promoted from within, recognize them as being in the new position. Currently, say an assembler becomes a technician; management still sees an assembler and treats the person as such.

    Pros

Good Pay, Strong Mentoring program, and ability to move around and get promoted for high performers. They have made great strides since the new CEO took over in modernizing the facilities and tech capabilities for employees. They have implemented new HR policies that have reduced some of the barriers for moving around in the company also.

    Cons

Even though improving, some of the facilities are still worn down. The benefits are also not terrible, but not great. 401k used to match 75%, now it's 50%. Medical insurance has also taken a nose dive.

    Advice to Management

change your mindset and actually follow the new HR policies! Too often I still hear of management still following old guidelines! If you're going to manage a new generation of workers, you are going to have to adapt.

People - helpful and encouraging, eager to help.
Technology - State of the art avionics, integration and support, with expansion into new areas.
Management - Excellent leadership and direction.
    Work - challenging and rewarding.

    Cons

All in all there isn't too much to say that is negative about the company.
There is a lot of work to do with a significant amount of pending work possible, additional expertise will be required to address these new activities.

    Advice to Management

Senior management at RCC has developed a work environment that is conducive to supporting new ideas and designs while still driving superior productivity and results.

    Pros

Compensation and benefits. Cedar Rapids is not a bad place to live.

    Cons

An an engineer you will be left hi and dry. Nos support and constant criticism from management...unless your a long term senior guy from the area. You better fall in line of get out the door. Work life balance very poor as well. If you do not work more than 40 hours per week it is counted against you....and it is tracked and discussed in reviews.

    Advice to Management

Wise up! Your losing talent because you are blind and arrogant.
