I have been working at Rogers Communications full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Downtown Toronto Offices are full of younger talented people.
50% off Rogers' products makes their internet TV and phone services actually appealing.

    Cons

Other GTA locations seem to be filled with rejects who just want to keep things the exact same until retirement. Bitterly segmented and politically driven upper management.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Consider slashing the Rogers Red tape, often tickets or requests take MONTHS to get aggressed. Also a reports and numbers mean nothing if you can't recall what happened three weeks ago because you are working on nothing but the NEXT report.

I worked at Rogers Communications as a contractor (less than an year)

    Pros

Solid people, great atmosphere, great benefits, pension package is good

    Cons

Low salary, not much upward mobility, difficult management culture

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Don't be afraid to look for talent right in front of your eyes. Likewise, looking for interesting new people who don't meet the corporate story in their CVs can only be a good thing.

I worked at Rogers Communications as a contractor (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Work under press and good pay, and it is best place to meet different people come from different counties.

It is really a multi-culture company.

    Cons

Time and priority issue. There is no training for contractor, but many training for full-time employee.

That is much better than small companies.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Give different people different task and salary.

I have been working at Rogers Communications full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

    - Employee perks (phone/cable discounts, 50% off baseball tickets, etc.)
    - There's a Starbucks on site

    Cons

    - Negative office environment riddled with school-yard politics at the management level
    - Lack of direction, continuous flip-flopping on strategic initiatives
    - Most customers truly hate the company, so there's that
    - Misuse of talent and resources across the board
    - Heavy reliance on third-party products and services, in spite of enormous capital funding to create their own
    - Low compensation, low bonus pay-out, low merit increases are the norm
    - Borderline ridiculous work-load with unfeasible expectations from upper management
    - Smoke screen corporate culture, heavy on the buzzwords, light on the results
    - Limited opportunity for growth

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I worked for Rogers for 2 years during a time of transition under new leadership, and was happy to find new employment on my own accord. I did have some good experiences in my time there, but these were few and far in between. Hopefully Guy Laurence can turn it around, as there are some great, long standing people working for Rogers that deserve better.

    Pros

Gives liberty to think independently and process are quiet clear

    Cons

Sometimes we feel stuck as people does not clear the ownership and due to this our work halted and we afraid of clearing the task. Lot of meetings but it is not giving intended results.
