    Pros

Interesting Technology Good colleagues Reasonable benefits Good treatment of employees and reasonable benefits

    Cons

Relatively new senior management seems less interested in actually understanding the businesses we are in, than in running the company with business "processes." Revamping of "company culture" posters and slogans are bogus management, but do minimal damage.

    Advice to Management

Pay more attention to understanding the businesses and technology and less to process-based systems.

    Pros

Knowledge retained through longer term employees Work with some very smart people who are dedicated to what they are doing Benefit offerings are very generous Beginning to obtain more targeted hires of some strategic managers in the past year + Good work/life balance

    Cons

Consistency is a big problem with policy enforcement and program distribution. Subject-matter experts/managers/leaders often have others outside their area of expertise weigh in on their approaches to running their business. Not all recent new employees and managers are not used to their level of knowledge. Need to employer the people here. Not nibble with decision making. Employees feel they need to have their opinion heard which weighs down getting decisions made. Company culture at the corporate level tends to be negative. Senior staff need to lead better to help the staff under them understand where the departments going and what is most important and what the priorities are. Internal systems very outdated and not competitive, but Rogers is moving in the right direction. Employee growth & development at Corporate are not priorities for the majority.

    Advice to Management

Need stronger leadership to help set priorities and communicate clearly what remains as a priority.

    Pros

None. It was a very stressful environment to work in. Don't get fooled by the smiles and politeness.

    Cons

Managers do not recognize true talent. Instead they listen to the squeaky wheel. The louder one squeaks, the more one gets listened to , whether or not there is any merit to the issue. Some people are regarded as blue eyed wonders, who can do no wrong. Disruptive behavior was tolerated. Disrespectful behavior was tolerated. Another person who had a knack for producing beautiful slide shows was promoted over and over, even though he had little else to show.

    Advice to Management

Get rid of managers who foster the above culture and then maybe you have a chance.

    Pros

Employee development, collaboration, everyone is treated as an individual. Engineering staff is strong - necessary in the industry.

    Cons

Sometimes people are promoted when they are not ready, effects those reporting to them. Slow to move employees that are road blocks. Maybe Bruce will help change that!

    Advice to Management

Listen to what your employees are saying. And if you can't do anything about it, let them know why.
